INT. JOHN GRAYSON’S APARTMENT - SUNSET

The camera moves through the city of San Francisco,

California. We see mansion after mansion lined up next to
each other. Then we pan into a more run down part of the city
where there are people sleeping on the sidewalks in tents and
tarps. There are also very grimy apartment buildings every
block or so. We zoom into one of the rooms in the apartment,
the inside is just as dirty and deteriorated as the outside
of the building. In the room there is JOHN GRAYSON and
SCARLETT GRAYSON ,a couple, arguing. Both seem to be in their
mid 20s.

JOHN GRAYSON

(Arms raised and shouting)

What’s wrong with wanting to have what they

have! What's wrong with wanting to be
better!

SCARLETT GRAYSON

When you say “be better” you mean be rich.

You mean you want to be like those
psychopaths.

JOHN GRAYSON

And what’s wrong with that? I want to

improve my quality of life-

our quality of life. (Points to

himself and then her)

SCARLETT GRAYSON

(Arms Crossed)

And then what. So we get more food, clean

clothes, a nicer place to live. Where

does it stop? Where is the line between

2
need and want, John? Who will you have to

kill?

JOHN GRAYSON

(Not looking at his wife and thinking

about it.)

I don’t know.

(Fades out)

INT. JOHN GRAYSON’S APARTMENT - NIGHT

Both John and Scarlett lay in two sleeping bags

facing away from each other. John sits up and sits

on the edge of the bed, facing away from his wife.

He appears to be thinking about something.

JOHN GRAYSON

(looks over his shoulder

at his wife)

Who will I have to kill?

EXT. THE OUTSIDE OF A STORE - DAY

We see John standing outside a store shop window

holding something that looks like a body bag over

his shoulder. He shakes hands with a man in a suit

and passes the body over to the man.

3
EXT. TOWN CENTER PUBLIC TELEVISION - DAY

It's just another day in San Francisco, when

suddenly the televisions in the shop window of some

fake store that constantly blairs propaganda turned

into a commercial for John’s store that he’s

opened. The TV turns on and we see John on screen. We

slowly zoom into the screen.

JOHN GRAYSON (ON TV)

(Outside the front of the store)

Come on down to Limbs and Parts (motions
with hands backwards) we got all the
finest things you will ever need at low
low prices. (scene cuts to John inside of
the shop) This T.V. here (points at T.V.)
will cost ya two pairs of legs. This grill
(seen leaning on grill) costs only five
arms. You can get this whole outdoor patio
set (wide shot of him standing in the
middle of a patio set) for three human
bodies. Yes you heard right, only three
human bodies! (mid shot) You don’t wanna
miss these deals, only at Limbs and Parts
(zoom out to see whole building)

4
INT. JOHN’S SHOP - DAY

We flash forward 5 years to see John in his shop

making sales. We see people walking in with

severed limbs, buying stuff. John is then seen

talking with a man, BILL, that frequents the store.

They talk and joke like old friends.

JOHN GRAYSON

(shakes hands with the man)

How’s the grill treating ya, BILL?

BILL

I’ve had it for almost a year now, I

think it’s just about time to

get a new one.

JOHN GRAYSON

Well, feel free to take a look at our

new selection and I'll get you going

home with one today.(starts to

walk away)

John goes over to three men that are looking at three

sports cars. They seem to be in their early twenties
and are all wearing slightly different variations of
the same grey suit.

5
JOHN GRAYSON

How are we doing over here boys,

thinking about buying one of these cars?

BOY #1

Yeah, actually we’re thinking about

buying all three.

JOHN GRAYSON

What? Really? You guys are going to buy

all three.

BOY #3

Yeah we figured why not, A car for each

of us.

BOY #2

We have all the funds in the truck

outside.

The camera goes outside to see a truck full of bodies

and limbs. We realise that the body parts are the way
they intend to pay for the cars.

6
JOHN GRAYSON
(shakes hands with the three
boys enthusiastically)
Wow! This is- I’m gonna to get you boys

going home with these cars as soon as

possible!

BOY #1

Hey actually (looks at his name tag that

says John Grayson)um,John, can you

deliver the cars to this address tomorrow

morning?

JOHN GRAYSON

Yeah if that’s what you fellas want. No

problem. I’ll see you guys

tomorrow.(waving at them as they walk out

the door)

INT.INSIDE A TOW TRUCK-EARLY MORNING

We follow John in a tow truck on his way to the

designated meeting spot. It is early in the morning

and the sun can be seen rising over the city

skyline. He drives through a more ragged part of the

city. He sees people with missing limbs.

JOHN GRAYSON (V.O.)

I’ve forgotten how bad this place was.I’ve

7
repressed what I’ve done to get where I

am. I’ve enabled them to keep taking lives

for meaningless objects.

JOHN GRAYSON

I loved her. And I killed her.

His mind was wondering. His attention wasn’t fully

on the road ahead of him. He slammed on the breaks

when a lady with a missing arm hobbled in front of

the truck. The lady didn’t flinch. She appeared to

not care if she was hit by the truck or not. He sat

there in the truck for a while. He reached up next

to the steering wheel and turned off the car. Then

he opened the door, got out, and started walking

back to the store. He left everything and didn’t

look back. Right then and there he made a decision.

INT.LIMPS AND PARTS-NIGHT

We see the outside of Limbs and Parts at night. We

pull into the open sign that is still on the close

side. Then the camera moves into the store, all the

lights are off.John is sitting at a desk in his

office, thinking. A Desk Lamp provides the only

lighting in the room. It's quiet and isolated.

8
JOHN GRAYSON

I can’t do this anymore. This has to stop.

I have to shut this down. I can’t keep

selling things to people who have no

regard for human life.

John gets up from his seat, walks out into the showroom, and
smashes everything. He smashes the car windshields and kicks
in tv screens. He goes on a ramage. The camera slowly moves
away from the action and back to the closed sign. The shop
will always stay closed.
