I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of: pre-colonial Philippine
literature as a means of connecting to the past; various reading styles;
ways of determining word meaning; the sounds of English and the
prosodic features of speech; and correct subject-verb agreement.
B. Performance The learner transfers learning by: showing appreciation for the literature
Standards of the past; comprehending texts using appropriate reading styles;
participating in conversations using appropriate context-dependent
expressions; producing English sounds correctly and using the prosodic
features of speech effectively in various situations; and observing correct
subject-verb agreement.
This lesson will help the learners to master viewing as the fifth macro
skill in learning the English language more specifically on identifying the
genre of a material viewed on TV, internet or other media platforms.

online platform allows us to become active in the modern way of
communicating around the world.
Viewing helps you understand the message by seeking and checking
understanding. It is classified according to its purpose and type of
information presented. The classification of viewing is called genres of
viewing.
