international resort famous for its theme parks and numerous hotels. The complex is

Worldwide Disney has 14 parks around the world but The Magic Kingdom at Walt
Disney World Resort is the most popular park in the world and Walt Disney World
Resort in Florida is the most famous, largest and most important theme park complex in
the world.
In Bolivia there are many people who do not know about Disney Parks, most of these
people are those who live in rural areas, even though Disney is the most famous park in
the world, it is not known in every corner of the world.
There are also many Bolivians who have visited Walt Disney.
Visiting the Disney Parks are not cheap so money can be an obstacle to travel and visit
these parks but it is not impossible, with a good effort everything is possible, this is
demonstrated by many people from Tarija who have visited Walt Disney World.
1.- FOUNDERS.- The founders of Disney were: Walt Disney and Roy Disney.
1.1.- Walt Disney.- Walt Elias Disney was an entrepreneur, animator, screenwriter,
voice actor, and film producer. Leader of the American animation industry, he
introduced novelties in the production of cartoons. As a film producer, Disney holds the
record for the most Oscars with 22 statuettes and 59 nominations. He was also
awarded two special Golden Globe Awards and an Emmy Award, among many other
accolades. Several of his films are included in the National Film Registry of the Library
of Congress of the United States
Walt Disney was born in Chicago in 1901 and very soon showed an interest in drawing.
He attended art classes as a child and worked as a commercial illustrator from the age
of 18. He moved to California in the early 1920 and there he founded the Disney
Brothers Studio with his brother Roy. Together with Iwerks, Walt created the character
of Mickey Mouse in 1928, his first great success and which he himself gave voice to at
first. With the growth of his animation studio, he introduced advances such as
synchronized sound, animated feature films, and technical developments in cameras.
The results can be seen in films such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937),
Pinocchio and Fantasia (both from 1940), Dumbo (1941) and Bambi (1942), all of which
fostered the development of animated cinema. After World War II (1939-1945), the
Disney studio produced new animated and live-action films, a case of successes such
as Cinderella (1950) and Mary Poppins (1964), the latter of which received five Oscars.
In the 1950s he expanded his business into amusement parks and in 1955 he opened
Disneyland in Anaheim, California. To finance this huge project, he diversified his
activity with television shows such as Walt Disney's Disneyland and The Mickey Mouse
Club. Likewise, it was involved in the 1959 Moscow Fair, the 1960 Winter Olympics or
the 1964 New York World's Fair. In 1965 the development of a second theme park,
Disney World, began, whose heart was to be a new type of city, the «Experimental
Prototype of the City of Tomorrow» (EPCOT). Disney was a lifelong smoker and died of
lung cancer in December 1966, before the park or the EPCOT project was finished.
Privately, Walt Disney was a shy, self-deprecating and insecure man, but he developed
a public image of a warm and outgoing character. He was a perfectionist and expected
that those who worked with him would always give their best. Although he has
sometimes been called a racist, many of those who knew him have denied it. His
reputation changed in the years after his death, and he went from being seen as
someone who promoted the patriotic values of his country to a clear representative of
US imperialism. However, he remains an important figure in the history of animated film
and culture in the United States, where he is considered a national cultural icon. His film
creations continue to be viewed and adapted, the film studio he founded and named
after him continues to maintain high standards in its popular entertainment production,
and Disney parks have grown in size and number to attract visitors from many
countries.
1.2.- Roy Disney.- Roy Oliver Disney was an American businessman, recognized for
being the partner and co-founder, along with his younger brother, Walt Disney, of The
Walt Disney Company, now known as The Walt Disney Company, one of the largest
and most successful companies in history. .
Together with his brother Walt Disney in 1923, he founded one of the best-known
companies in the world, of which he was also CEO and President of the company.
Throughout his life, Roy Disney rejected the publicity and fame that came to him as the
brother of Walt Disney. He was extremely shy and a passive person.
After Walt Disney World Resort opened its doors in October 1971, Roy finally retired. In
early December of that year, he complained of a "dot" over one of his eyes and was
scheduled to visit his eye doctor for a new glasses prescription. He was discovered by
family members in a dazed state; collapsed, next to his bed, and died of a seizure.
2.- PARKS.- Disney in Florida has 4 theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal
Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios.
2.1.- Magic Kingdom.- Magic Kingdom is a theme park located at Walt Disney World
Resort in Good View Lake, near Orlando (Florida). It is coordinated and directed by The
Walt Disney Company through Walt Disney Parks, Esperiences and Products. Opened
on October 1, 1971, it is the most famous theme park in Florida, and the most visited in
the world. It was designed and built by WED Enterprises (now known as Walt Disney
Imagineering), the layout of the areas and the attractions of the park are similar to those
of Disneyland in Anaheim, California, opened in 1955. The record of visits was achieved
in 2015, when 20,492,000 visitors came to the park.
The Walt Disney Company began construction of the Magic Kingdom, along with the
resort in 1967 after Walt Disney's death. The park was initially similar to Disneyland built
in Anaheim, California, however Magic Kingdom was built in a larger area. It was also
improved in regards to the Disneyland design. Magic Kingdom was built over a series of
tunnels, called Utilidors, which consisted of offices and hallways. The tunnels are unique
and original to the Magic Kingdom due to the large profits at the time, but they were
copied at smaller scales in other Disney Parks and areas like Epcot and Pleasure
Island.
Magic Kingdom was inaugurated as the first part of the project created by Walt Disney
for Florida on October 1, 1971. It was at that time the only theme park in the resort and
was only opened with two hotels: Disney's Polynesian Resort and Disney's
Contemporary Resort. The park opened with 23 attractions, with only three originals
from the park and twenty copied from other attractions at Disneyland. The Walt Disney
Company promised to increase the number of attractions, with others copied from
Disneyland and some originals. The attractions were divided into six themed areas, five
of them copied from Disneyland and the original Liberty Square. Since its opening,
Magic Kingdom has only been closed five times, caused by Hurricane Floyd, the 9/11
attacks, Hurricane Frances, Hurricane Charley, and Hurricane Wilma.
2.2.- Epcot.- Epcot is a theme park located at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. It
was the second park to open at Disney World after Magic Kingdom. It is dedicated to
international culture and technological innovation, therefore it is divided into 2 sections
that represent them: Future World and World Showcase. It was opened in October 1982
with the name of Epcot Center, which was changed to Epcot in 1996. It was Disney's
largest park until the opening of Animal Kingdom in 1998.
In 2010, Epcot received approximately 10.83 million visitors, ranking third in the ranking
of the most visited parks in the United States, and fifth in the world ranking. Epcot is an
acronym for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, a utopian city of the
future planned by Walt Disney. Disney's original version of Epcot was that of a model
community, home to twenty thousand residents. Disney's vision did not take into
account that the necessary permission to begin work on its Florida property would not
be given until it agreed to build the Magic Kingdom. Walt Disney died before the Magic
Kingdom opened, so the Walt Disney Company decided it did not want to carry out the
Epcot project as it had envisioned
EPCOT Center was built at an estimated $ 800 million to $ 1.4 billion, and took three
years to build (it is currently the largest construction project on the planet). Covering an
area of 123 hectares, it takes up more than twice the space of Magic Kingdom.
2.3.- Disney´s Hollywood Studios.- Disney's Hollywood Studios, known as Disney-
MGM Studios, is a theme park located in Walt Disney World, near Orlando, Florida in
the United States. It opened its doors on May 1, 1989 and has an area of 546,000 m².
The theme of the park is movies and television shows made in Hollywood.
The original concept of the Disney MGM studios was to function not just as a theme
park but as full movie and television studios. When Disney MGM opened its doors in
1989, it had 2 areas dedicated to production and animation studios, in which various
Disney projects were produced and the studios were used in the filming of various
projects for other companies.
After a period of operations, it was decided to reduce the areas of the movie studios,
moving the personnel and operations to the main Disney studios in Burbank, California.
