In your original perspective on what literature is, explain what is important about
understanding the short story as part of literature.  Why is it important as literary
art?  Support your perspective with evidence from one of the stories we read for
the course.

As we know literature comes in many forms, and short story is one of them. Short stories are
short and when we say "short," we don't just mean the amount of words or characters. It also
refers to the rapid pacing, single-minded plot, and concise format. Short story mostly reflects
realities and conflicts in a society so if we understand how it is plotted and what are the themes
of a short story what are the sittings of it then readers can easily understand what the author
message is. I think Literature wouldn’t be completed without short stories; since they
show extraordinary events and crucial or critical occasions in the lives of people like the story of
Postmaster by Tagore. And what makes short stories important as literary art is its shortness
and its focus is not on the whole experience but rather on a single experience that is pointed out
precisely since it is not a piece of that reality, but instead a time wherein "reality" is questioned.
A good example can be Kingdome of cards and Snow.

2. In your original perspective on what literature is, explain what is important about
understanding drama/plays as part of literature.  Why is drama important as
literary art?  Support your perspective with evidence from one of the stories we
read for this course.

Like short stories, dramas also tell a story by employing the elements of short story.
However, what sets drama apart from other literature is that it is performed by actors on a
stage or in a film in front of an audience. The performers speak the dialogue, perform the
actions of their characters and wear costumes to help portray their characters. Drama can be a
very entertaining form of literature. In Helena’s husband drama I was wondering in what
would happen between the characters in Helena's Husband play, and that is what makes it
literary art.

3. In your original perspective on what literature is, explain what is important

about understanding poetry as part of literature.  Why is poetry important as
literary art?  Support your perspective with evidence from one of the poems we
read for this course.
Poetry is the greatest part of literature one can transmit of all their thoughts,
feelings, and ideas through this piece of art. Poetry as a broad  form of expression uses
a very sweet language and in short lines lies great meanings and it is what makes it
artistic. When one can’t express their feelings in prose, they can do it very comfortably
by writing poems they are rich in meaning as in poem of Marta Alvarado History
Professor there is a lot of memories of the author in very less words. Poetry is a literary
work in verse writing of high quality, great beauty, a work of art, with emotional sincerity
or passion, a graceful expression displaying imagination and profound feeling, and of
lovely and exquisite quality.
4.Then, write two sentences at the end to answer the question, why should we
read and study literature?

Literature reveals a particular period's culture and, in certain ways, may impart life lessons to
current society. Reading literature is a worldview lesson. We frequently observe how people
differ in their situations and attitudes to life, as well as the wide range of human beliefs.
