1. Zero conditional: Complete the sentences using the appropriate form of the
verbs in the box. The first one is done for you.

3. Second conditional: Complete the sentences with the things you would do in
certain hypothetical situations. Then, write what your best friend, who always
does the opposite of you, would not do in the same cases. The first one is done
for you.

C. Forget to buy your best friend a birthday present.

1. If I forgot my mother's birthday, I would never forgive myself.


2. If my best friend forgot to brush her teeth, her mouth wouldn’t smell very
good.

D. Be prosecuted for a crime you didn’t commit.


1. If I was a prosecuted for a crime you didn’t commit, I would fight until the last
moment, until the truth came to light.
2. If my best friend was a prosecuted for a crime you didn’t commit, she wouldn’t
be happy.

E. Lose your passport in a foreign country.

1. If I lost my passport in a foreign country, I would go to the Colombian embassy


in that country.
2. If my best friend lost her passport in a foreign country, she wouldn’t lose her
calm.
