ACTIVITY 2.2
POSITION PAPER

Is it true that andres bonifacio was the first president of the philippines?
Some say that Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo is in fact, not the first president of the
Filipino people because Andres Bonifacio has a more solid claim. One may
therefore conclude that the issue of who was the first Philippine president
continues to be a contentious topic that haunts Filipinos till today.

The arguments about the presidency of andres bonifacio and the

evidence are not enough to claim that he is the first president of the
philippines.Numerous mysteries and theories often accompany the rise of a
president, but Andres Bonifacio should be the first president mainly because
he was the one who founded Kataas Taasang Kagalang-galang na Katipunan
ng mga Anak ng Bayan (KKK), and also because he was its first and only
supreme president. It was also proven that the organization which promotes
nationality and freedom, was transformed into a working government that led
the people into liberation. The organization has also met all the requirements
for it to be recognized as a government and we can practically say that it’s our
first and very own. These were proven by letters and documents sent and kept
by Bonifacio and his revolutionaries, which yield the information that a central
government inside the Katipunan handles and oversees the activities within
the organization. Being the one to transform the organization into a
government and serving as its Supremo, it is only right to declare Andres
Bonifacio as our first president. We should know that Andres bonifacio is a
genuine and inspiring motivation for being the leader of the first organization.
He is known as the father of the philippine revolution besides who carried a
remarkable life that he accomplished the freedom of the philippines. Every
Filipino should be mindful that Bonifacio responded to the call of an
opportunity to make change in his country. He showed his love and devotion
to his country and sacrificed himself to Spaniards but he was killed by his
fellow filipinos. His life shows us that achievement doesn't rely upon one's
social position or conditions. Not having the option to complete his education
made Bonifacio much more motivated to understand books and show himself
the world. Despite the fact that having battled through numerous difficulties in
his childhood and encountering failures during his initial activism, he
emphatically values comradeship. It shows us that regardless of how horrible
conditions are, it's critical to cooperate. Bonifacio probably would be the first to
admit that the revolution was the result of teamwork. He sacrificed a lot to
support his family and in turn, his desire and motivation to have a better life
transformed into a need to support and unite his countrymen. As we celebrate
his accomplishments, Bonifacio day is on November 30. Andres Bonifacio
encapsulates the genuine significance of heroism – one that is prepared to
offer his childhood, howdy ability, his solidarity, his life to battle for freedom
and independence of his nation.

Therefore, the fearless leadership that Bonifacio showed in the war

shows the strength and mental fortitude of Filipinos, these being drawn from
patriotic spirit deep within every Filipino's heart. Filipino people experience
bonifacio’s courage and compassion in facing problems in our country
whether in large or little manners. People affected by disasters, following well
being conventions or areas affected during this covid pandemic, or by
defending the privileges of the individuals who are abused.
