I completed an interview with Veronica. Veronica is a Dental Assistant who works at San Diego
Center of Endodontics. Their contact information is 619-802-4613. I know this person
through someone I know.
2. What does a typical day look like in this career?
A typical day in a career as a Dental Assistant includes getting everything ready and set up for
the doctor.. A professional in this career is responsible for setup. This includes setting up
the materials needed. In addition, they are responsible for cleaning up. This includes
cleaning up after a patient. Finally, a professional in this career is responsible for x-rays.
This includes taking x-rays for the doctor to use for the patient.
3. What skills and abilities do you need to succeed in this career?
According to Veronica, an important skill needed to succeed in this career is patience. This is
important because you need to be patient while working with patients . In addition, an
important ability needed to succeed in this career is communication. This is important
because communication is the most important skill in a job
4. What are some facts you learned about this career that you were unaware of prior to
this experience?
One fact that I learned about this career that I was unaware of prior to this experience was
x-rays. This was interesting because you can see people's teeth through the x-rays.
Another fact that I learned about this career as a result of this experience was
communicating with patients. This information was helpful because you get to make
connection with your patients

One aspect of this career that is appealing to me is x-rays. This is appealing to me because it
uses the same technology as a career I want to do in the future. Another aspect of this
career that is appealing to me is helping people. This is appealing to me because I like
helping out others.
6. Which aspects of this career are not appealing to you? Explain.
One aspect of this career that is not appealing to me is working with people's mouths. This is
not appealing to me because of all the saliva in one’s mouth . Another aspect of this
 career that is not appealing to me is blood. This is not appealing to me because blood is
a bit terrifying.

you? Explain.
This career is a good fit for me based on my strengths, interests and values. For example, you
need communication skills and patience which are the skills I have. Also, the career I'm
interested in uses the same technology as this one.

In order to prepare for a job in this field, I would need to take biology,oral anatomy,and more
