Lesson 2.1 : Introducing the Music of the Classical Period
Time Frame : 2 WEEKS

❖ Introduction:

In this lesson, the students will demonstrate an understanding of the characteristics and features of classical music and connect the development of the
period to the historical-cultural events of the time. The students will likewise narrate the life of famous Classical Period composers, listen to, and sing their music.
Activities like these give the students ability to work harmoniously with a variety of people. They will learn to compromise with teammates and realize the
importance of their contributions.
In addition, the students will analyze the sonata-allegro form and sing themes or melodic fragments of the Classical Period. With this type of activity, they will
learn how to evaluate and analyze evidence and arguments.
Their creativity will also be developed when they explore other arts and media that portray classical elements and improvise appropriate accompaniments to
a short and simple classical musical piece. Finally, the students will participate in fun-filled activities that are specifically designed to make music classes
informative and engaging.
