of another building 4.5 m away. After a running start, he leaps at a velocity of 6.0 m/s
at an angle of 25° with respect to the flat roof. Find his vertical displacement

4.5 = 6 cos 25 Δt
Δt = 0.82 s

= 6 sin 25 x 0.82 + ½ x -9.81 (0.82 2)
= - 1.21 m

21.A baseball is thrown at an angle of 25° relative to the ground at a speed of 25.0 m/s. If
the ball was caught 32.0 m from the thrower.

32 = 25 cos 25 Δt
Δt = 1.41 s

b. How high above the thrower did the ball travel?


Δt = 1.41/ = 0.705 s

Δy= Vi sin Θ Δt + ½ aΔt2


= 25 sin 25 x 0.705 + ½ x -9.81 (0.705 2)
=5 m
