of
Adjectives.

there in this sentence? There are two


adjectives, ma’am.

Actually, this sentence should be


written as “A big white mouse.”

You will know why, later.


We need to remember that there can
be one adjective in a sentence, and
it can reach to three.

When you use more than


one adjective, you have to

put them in order. We can’t put them


wherever we want, because there is
a specific order in which adjectives
should be placed.

The Order of Adjective is easier to


remember using the acronym
N-O-S-A-S-C-O-M-P

Which stands for:
Beautiful, ugly,
Number – describes the number of
nouns. fragrant tiny, small,

Class, give me three big, huge old,


numbers.

Opinion – describes the judgment or
what you think about something. circular, square

black, white, yellow


Size – describes how big or small
something is.
American, Chinese,
Age – describes how old or young
something is. Italian wooden, silk,
plastic fishing,
Shape – describes the shape of
something. cooking, sleeping
Color – describes the color of
something.

Origin – describes where the noun is


from.

Material – describes what the noun is


made of.

Purpose – describes what the noun


is used for.
