Life is Beautiful

Life is beautiful movie is one of the most typical Italian films you should watch! , also known
as “La vita è bella” this movie will make you think life is great. This comedy – drama movie
was filmed and directed by Roberto Benigni in 1997. This movie inspired by the book In the
End tells a story lived during the World War II.
In 1939, Guido Orefice the protagonist is a young jewish man who falls in love with a girl
named Dora, girl who is engaged to a rich, arrogant and important man. During the story,
Guido has many coincidental events where he tries to show he loves Dora. Finally, Dora sees
his interest and gives in. After this, they get married and have a son called Giosué.
When the World War II breaks out, Guido and his family are forced and taken to a Nazi
concentration camp where Dora and Guido are separated and a lot people die because of the
rough work and a chamber gas.
Guido and his family have many poignant moments here, where lots of things happen and
where we can see how life can have a lot of emotional contrast at the same time.
