General

1. It is recommended that the barrier be fitted by an authorised HAYMAN REESE dealer.


2. Read and ensure that the instructions are fully understood before making any attempt to fit this product.
3. Use a suitable stop on drills to prevent drilling through the roof.
4. It is recommended that new installers use masking tape to mark out and confirm location before drilling holes.
Masking tape can also be used as an added protection against trim and carpet damage.
5. Be wary of any changes to vehicle designs or other accessories that may conflict with the fitting of the cargo barrier.
Seat belt anchors must not be located within 100 mm of the anchor plates.
6. Before drilling, ensure that area is clear of fuel, electrical, or other components.
7. Do not attach the barrier to the vehicle using seat belt or a child restraint device or its anchorage.
8. Do not obstruct seat belts, child restraints, or their operation.
9. The rating plaque shall not be removed from the cargo barrier.
10. Use care when applying rust preventative to avoid skin or eye irritation.
11. Use safety glasses when using electric drill and clean up swarf as soon as possible.
12. Cut out the templates along the marked dotted lines and confirm the scale is 1:1 before starting the installation

7mm diameter drill bit Masking tape


19mm Vinyl cutter with drill bit arbor (modified hole saw) Marking pen
Socket & ratchet Trim clip removal tool
Centre punch Vacuum cleaner
Hammer Metric socket set
Scissors
Handheld power drill

Replace pilot drill with non-cutting pilot after initial pilot is


cut to avoid possible damage to inner panels.

1. Preparing vehicle for Installation of barrier.

a. Open the rear tailgate door to gain


access to the rear cargo area of the
vehicle.

b. Remove cargo blind if fitted by


depressing the retention clip towards the
centre of the vehicle.

c. Fold the second row seats down


towards the front of the vehicle.

2. Preparing vehicle for installation of barrier.

a. Unclip covers on forward tie down points


using small flat blade screwdriver

b. Remove both forward tie down points


using T45 Torx driver.

c. Complete step for both sides of vehicle

4. Lower anchor point access holes.

a. Locate factory hole guides on underside


of floor trim panel.

b. Centre punch hole locations

c. Supporting the trim with a wood block

5. Lower anchor point access holes.

a. Re fit floor trim panel to vehicle.

b. Vinyl cut holes should align with factory


mounting points in vehicle body

7. Upper anchor point access holes

a. Carefully cut out and align upper anchor


point template with roof trim panels.

b. Place masking tape on roof liner at


approximate location of vinyl cut – use
template as a guide.

c. Once aligned correctly secure the


template to the roof liner using masking
tape

8. Preparing the vehicle for installation of barrier

a. Vinyl cut 19mm access hole as marked


on template.

b. Take care to ensure pilot does not


damage thread in factory mounting
points

c. Remove template and masking tape.

d. Complete steps 6 and 7 for both sides of


vehicle.

9. Fitting top straps

a. Fit top straps to vehicle using


M8x45mm Cargo bolt 7mm bush, wave
washer.

b. Fit straps on both sides of vehicle.

10. Preparing cargo barrier for installation

a. Pre assemble the M10 coach bolts and


rubber washers into cargo barrier.

b. Lay out required fasteners in vehicle


refer to drawing at start of instructions.

11. Installing the cargo barrier

a. Lay the barrier on an angle and insert


through the rear tailgate.

b. Secure the top straps to the cargo


barrier using Hand knob, flat and wave
washers.

12. Installing the cargo barrier

a. Secure the bottom straps to the cargo


barrier loosely using Hand knob, flat and
wave washers..

b. Secure bottom straps to anchor point in


floor using M8x45mm Cargo bolt and
wave washer.

13. Finalise installation

a. Centralise barrier in vehicle.

b. Tighten all fasteners.

c. Replace cargo blind (if fitted)

Keep these instructions in the Glove Box with the owner’s manual for future reference.

1. The compliance Rating Plaque that is fitted to the Cargo Barrier shall not be removed under any
circumstances.
2. Do not obstruct seat belt or child restraints, or their operation.
3. Do not attach the cargo barrier to the vehicle using seat, seat belt or child restraint anchorages.
4. Do not attach objects to the front of the Cargo barrier.
5. Do not modify the Cargo Barrier in any way.
6. Do not use this Cargo Barrier in any other vehicle for which it is not designed.
7. During a collision, moving cargo may damage the seat belts and the tether strap of a child restraint
device or its anchorages. Load should not be in contact with webbing.
8. Never leave children unattended in the rear of the vehicle especially behind the Cargo Barrier.
9. Position the load against the Cargo Barrier.
10. Clean the Cargo Barrier with soap and water only. Do not use solvents or chemicals.
11. Replace the Cargo Barrier if it becomes rusted or damaged.
12. Do not store outside in direct sunlight.
13. Long thin items of cargo should be positioned in the vehicle with the long thin axis across the vehicle
to minimise the penetration risk.
14. Regularly check that the fasteners are tight.
15. In the event of an accident the Cargo Barrier may deform into the passenger area and the mounting
points may be weakened. Please have the installation checked by an authorised Hayman Reese
dealer in the event of an accident.
16. The high tensile fasteners supplied with this barrier were used to achieve the specified rating if
replacement is required, ensure that fasteners of the same rating are used. Contact an authorised
Hayman Reese dealer if further information is required.

VINYL CUT FRONT OF VEHICLE
1. ENSURE THAT SCALING IS CORRECT USE DIMENSIONS AS A GUIDE.
2. CUT AROUND OUT SIDE PERIMETER OF TEMPLATE PRIOR TO PLACE
ALIGN EDGE WITH MENT.
JOIN IN TRIM 3. PIERCE CENTRE POINT AS INDICATED.
4. PLACE MASKING TAPE ON THE APROXIMATE AREA OF PIERCE
POINT.
ALIGN THIS EDGE WITH PLASTIC TRIM 5. ALIGN TEMPLATE WITH TRIM AS INDICATED ON THE TEMPLATE IN
TWO PLACES.
6. SECURE TEMPLATE WITH MASKING TAPE THEN MARK POINT WITH
SUITABLE MARKER.
7. THIS WAY UP FOR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE TURN
TEMPLATE OVER FOR DRIVERS SIDE.
