Summary
RSLinx Classic: RSWho Window Does Not Show Any Configured Drivers

Problem
Any driver created in RSLinx Classic software does not show up under Workstation
in the RSWho window. Linx Gateways and Ethernet driver are not shown either.
Cannot browse any drivers configured in RSLinx Classic software.
Unable to create drivers in RSLinx Classic software.
RSWho window is empty.
RSWho window is completely blank. Already verified that the configured drivers are
visible in the registry and that the user is logged in as administrator.
Cannot configure a DF1 Polling Master Driver in RSLinx Classic RSWho window.
Unable to create the DF1 slave driver in RSLinx Classic.
After configuring the DF1 slave driver in RSlinx the driver never shows up.
After configuring the EtherNet/IP driver in RSlinx the driver never shows up under

Solution
Solution 1
It was discovered that computer name contained regional (non-English) letters (Polish or Russian). Change the
computer name so it does not contain any regional characters.

Solution 2
Delete the Harmony files. Refer to RSLinx Classic: Clearing cache by deleting Harmony files.

Solution 3
Create a new administrator user account.

Solution 4
Repair the installation of the RSLinx Classic software.

Solution 5
1. Uninstall the RSLinx Classic software.
2. Remove C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockwell Software\RSCommon.
3. Reboot the computer.
4. Reinstall the RSLinx Classic software.

Note: If there are issues with uninstalling the RSLinx Classic software, go through the
clean-up procedure. For more information, see RSLinx Classic System Clean Up
Procedures.
 

Solution 6

Install a compatible version of the RSLinx Classic software for the computer’s operating
system. Refer to the Product Compatibility & Download Center for compatibility
information and software release notes.

Solution 7

Right click the RSLinx Classic icon and select Run as Administrator.

Solution 8

Disable the User Account Control (UAC) settings in Windows and Reboot the Computer.
