Insert a clustered column chart in cell C17 based on the students in the table, add

a legend at the bottom of the chart.


- Choose cell C17
- Insert Tab
- Chart
- Chart 2-D Clustered Column
- Chart Tool - Design Tab - Select Data - Highlight table (A1:F8)
- Remove (Uncheck) Grade Level from the chart (because we don't want that to show as a part
of the chart itself). Click OK
- Add Chart Element - (plus sign, or find it in the ribbon in the upper left) - Legend - Bottom

Apply Chart Style


- Chart Style 8 [Chart Tools Design Tab - Chart Styles Group]

Give the chart a Chart Title


8 above the chart, name it "Awesome Math Grades
Chart"
- [Chart Tools Design Tab - Chart Title - Above]
- Double-click in the place holder above the chart if one appeared there with a generic title in it

Move a Chart
- Click on Click on the whole chart and move it so it's directly under the data table

Copy and Change Chart Type


- Click on the entire chart (somewhere on the border/perimeter so it's selected) and Copy it
(Control + C)
- Paste (Control + V) a copy and move it next to the original chart so they are side by side.
- With the copy selected, go to [Chart Tools Design Tab - Change Chart Type - Choose a line Chart]

Switching Rows and Columns


- With the line chart selected, go to Chart Tools Design Tab - Switch Row/Column button] see
what happened? The horizontal axis becomes the vertical axis and vice-versa

Use the data in the Teacher Name and Average GPA columns ONLY to create a
Clustered Column Chart. Then, Position the new chart under the table data
- Insert Tab
- Charts - Column Chart
- Chart 2-D Clustered Column
- Select Data Button
- Chart Data Range = Select columns A through C, then UNCHECK the Students in Class checkbox
(so it doesn't show up in the cart) - Click OK - Drag it under the table data

Add an additional data series (Column D) to the Chart


- Select the chart
- In the table data, there now appears a blue perimeter around the data the chart shows
- Drag the blue perimeter line over to the right one column so it includes column D now

Add the title "GPA" above the column chart and label the vertical axis "Average"
and the horizontal axis "Teacher"
- Chart Tools Design Tab - Add Chart Element
- Title - Above Chart
- Type the Title GPA
- Add Chart Element - Axis Titles
- Do both the horizontal and vertical axes and type in their titles

Switch the rows with the columns on the column chart


- Select the Chart
- Chart Tools Design Tab - Data Group
- Switch Row/Column button

Put a Chart Legend at the Bottom of the Chart


- Chart Tools Design Tab
- Add Chart Element
- Legend - Bottom

Use the data in the Teacher Name and Students Making Honor Roll columns ONLY
to create a 3-D Pie Chart. Position the new chart to the right of the column chart.
- Insert Tab
- Charts - Pie Chart - 3-D Pie Chart
- Select Data button
- Chart data range = Select the 2 columns you want to appear in the chart
- Click OK, then drag and drop the chart over to the right of the column chart

Apply the Chart Style 3, Colorful Palette 3 to a 3-D Pie Chart


- Select the Pie Chart
- Chart Tools Design Tab
- Chart Styles - Choose Chart Style 3
- Change Colors button, select Colorful Palette 3
- Chart Tools Design Tab
- Chart Styles - Choose Chart Style 3
- Change Colors button, select Colorful Palette 3
