Human Act
Lesson No. 1

Answer the following questions objectively as possible. Support your

arguments from the discussions above.

1. Are the actions of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide an act of man or human act?
Explain your answer.

The actions made by Dr. Jekyll is human act, since all his act were made
with free will. However, it falls to the commanded acts under the kinds of
human acts since the his actions were in control by the will or under orders of
the will. Dr Jekyll aims to avoid undesired accountable both internal and
external that is why he might fall one of Glenn's kind of voluntariness, which is
the imperfect voluntariness because he has this moral problem but answered
it with a psychological solution making it impossible to successfully solve. This
led him to face death since his other one, Mr. Hyde already controlled his state
of being.

2. If Dr. Jekyll knows that whenever he drinks the potion, he will turn into
Mr. Hide, is he responsible for the act that Mr. Hide does? Support your claim
using the discussion above.

Yes, since it falls under perfect voluntariness which means that he has
full knowledge and full intention to do the act. And at the same time, he was
also aware of the effects by doing the said act.

No.
3. If Dr. Jekyll is ignorant of what will happen if he drinks the potion. Is he
still responsible for the actions after he drinks the potion?

If Dr. Jekyll is ignorant of the effects of drinking the potion, he might fall
under one of the important principles to consider when it comes to ignorance
which is "invincible ignorance destroys the voluntariness of an act" meaning
the ignorance he has is too powerful that it affects his voluntariness.
Therefore, I must say that he is still responsible for the actions he made after
he drinks the potion.
