INTERBANK RATE
Introdution:
Work on sheet Interbank Rate.
USD/VND exchange rate is controlled by State Bank of Vietnam. Everyday, SBV announces a rate called "Interbank rate". The regulation is that banks are not
allowed to trade USD outside the 0.25% range bound of that interbank rate.
Data of the interbank rates are available for the first 6 months of 2016.
You are required to calculate the ceiling e/rate and floor e/rate for each day between USD and VND.
Instruction: Enter formula in purple cells G14, H14 and copy down. In the formula, do you use reference to other cells? Are they absolute reference, relative
reference or mix reference? absolute reference
Assume you were an auditor auditing Citibank and you found that on 26 Apr 2016, Citibank sold $1million against VND at e/rate of 22,901. Would you take any
action? Yes, they violated the regulation, bcz the rate was out of the bound of interbank rate, monetary fines should be applied in this case.
Change format of column F to look like column C.
Complete Analysis 1 using functions Average (), Max(), Min(). (Hint: fill the Average column only, then copy and use the Find and Replace feature (hotkey:
Ctrl+H))
You are required to create range names of interbank rates for each month. Use Formulas/Define Name. For example, define Jan10 the name for range (D16:D36),

Then complete Analysis 2- same information as analysis 1, but this time, use range names in your formulas. Check if Analysis 1 and 2 provide the same results
Complete Analysis 3 (Hints: use functions count(), countif(), small(), large()).
