Hello and Welcome to the Rabbits Eat Lettuce Festival Crew!!!

Thank you for applying to volunteer for the upcoming Rabbits Eat Lettuce
Festival 2018. We are excited to offer you a position on our Volunteer
Crew this year! Roster and position allocation will be sent closer to the
festival date and/or once volunteer deposit have been paid. We have
provided the following important information for you regarding your
volunteer position to ensure you understand the commitment we expect
from you. It is important that you read this entire document.

Medical Information:
It is important that you are medically fit and healthy. The work can be
strenuous and may require you to work in the sun and on your feet for
your shift. You MUST inform the Volunteer Coordinators of any medical
conditions which may interfere with your ability to volunteer or pose a
detriment to your health PRIOR to paying your deposit.

Festival Camping Rules


Absolutely No GLASS, No Couches, No Bean Bags. No Standard bed
Mattresses/inner springs. Yes to foam mattress and air beds.

Pack out what you pack in. Keep your site clean & rubbish free. Set a good
example for the festival patrons.

General Volunteering Information:


Volunteers MUST pay a $250 deposit to secure their place. Volunteers will
need to complete 12 hours which may be in Two (2) x 6 hour shifts.

Volunteer Deposit
This deposit will secure your volunteer position. After the event, provided you
have completed your allocated hours, you will receive the $200 refund (minus a
$50 fee). $50 is retained and covers the cost of your limited edition Rabbits
Eat Lettuce T-Shirt, administration costs and waste fee.

If you have already purchased a ticket online, please contact Nakia at:
aoe.bookkeeping@gmail.com to organise a refund. Tickets are not used as exchange
deposits for Volunteer deposits.

All deposits of $250 are to be PAID IN FULL ONLINE by the 4th MARCH
2018.

We are ONLY ACCEPTING ONLINE TRANSFER PAYMENTS of deposits.


Payments made into the bank account, in person will not be accepted as names are
not allowed in the reference section.

Please provide your Full Name in the reference section when making the online
deposits.

We cannot confirm your position until this deposit has been received. Please send a
SCREENSHOT of the bank deposit to rabbitseatlettucevolunteers@gmail.com.
This will speed up the confirmation process.

Return Bank Details:


Please provide your correct bank account details and a screenshot of your volunteer
deposit to the rabbitseatlettucevolunteers@gmail.com.

Your Bank Account Detail Should Include: Account name, BSB, Account number.
This will allow efficient confirmation of payment of your volunteer deposit and prompt
return of your deposit post-festival.

Volunteer Cancellation Fees:


There is a fee of $50 for cancelling your volunteer position within 21 days (3 weeks)
prior to the event.

Please ensure you are available and genuinely interested in being involved in the
festival BEFORE you pay your deposit and commit to being a REL Volunteer .

Volunteer Perks:


For volunteering your wonderful time, energy, enthusiasm and to show our
appreciation, all volunteers WILL RECEIVE :
Limited Edition Rabbits Eat Lettuce T-shirt and Lanyard to keep.
Volunteers will also be granted EARLY ENTRY into the event to secure
prime camping positions in the General Campground.

Early entry is permitted between 1PM to 5PM on Thursday 29th of March for
Volunteers only. NO ARRIVALS AFTER 5PM THURSDAY WILL BE PERMITTED !!

You will also have the opportunity to make friends for life and share unforgettable
memories with other volunteers and crew!

Rabbits Eat Lettuce
Festival Volunteer Code of Conduct and Policy
Volunteer Policy - Orientation & Registration:
All Volunteers who are working during the Festival are required to attend
the Volunteer Orientation & Registration at the OPERATIONS BUILDING
(located on the hill in Staff Camping). Orientation and Registration will be
held on:

Thursday the 29th of March at 5PM and 7PM. You must attend one of
these sessions if you wish to Volunteer

Volunteer Policy - Rostered Shifts:

Each Festival Volunteer must work:


2 X 6 HOUR SHIFTS equaling to a total of 12 hours to obtain a refund
of their deposit. This may be done consecutively or as 2 separate
shifts on different days.

Starting Your Shift

Volunteers must present to Info Tent / Volly HQ before their shift.


Volunteers must ARRIVE 15 MINUTES EARLY to ensure a smooth shift
transition.


PLEASE NOTE:
Any Festival Volunteer not required on a particular shift or designated to leave early
from a rostered shift MUST report to the Volunteer Coordinator at the INFORMATION
BOOTH to obtain an alternative shift in order to complete your designated hours of
volunteering to receive your full $200 refund. 

Please understand, it may or may not be for the same type of work.

Volunteer Policy - Timesheets and Deposit Refunds:

You will be provided with one (1) Volunteer Time sheet which will be kept at the
Information Booth in your Area Departments Folder. Volunteer time sheets MUST be
signed off by the Volunteer Coordinator/s, Time sheet Supervisor (designated at the
Info Booth) or your Department Area Manager on completion of each shift.

If you do not complete your time sheet and have it signed off, You WILL
NOT receive a refund of your deposit. This confirms with our admin that you have
done the hours. Please include your bank details on the volunteer time sheet for
your deposit to be refunded. Refunds for deposits will be completed 2 - 3 weeks
after the festival.

Rabbits Eat Lettuce Volunteers are…HONEST and RELIABLE...they


are GOOD LISTENERS & COMMUNICATORS…who HAPPILY FOLLOW
INSTRUCTIONS and want to HELP others...whilst being PRODUCTIVE,
FRIENDLY and SAFE Team Players with POSITIVE ATTITUDES who are highly
CONSCIENTIOUS of their IMPACT on others and the environment.

Code of Conduct - Volunteer Presentation & What to Bring:

Costumes may be worn during shift providing they are safe and appropriate for your
designated work position and you are  WEARING ENCLOSED SHOES AND A HAT.

Do not arrive on shift without appropriate shoes.

if you fail to arrive without proper footwear, you will be asked to leave and return to
your shift with enclosed shoes and your shift will begin from the time you return.

We recommend putting on sunscreen prior to your shift. You may also bring a
reusable water bottle and food with you to your shift.

If your shift is at night, please dress appropriately for the weather conditions and wear
warm clothes. Please bring a torch also.
5.
Code of Conduct - No Drugs or Alcohol Policy:

All Festival Volunteers are REQUIRED to arrive and work their shift in a
DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE, WELL RESTED AND ALERT STATE.

Any volunteer found to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol DURING their
shift will result in instant dismissal, forfeit of the volunteer deposit and loss of future
volunteer opportunities at ALL festivals organised by Rabbits Eat Lettuce.


Code of Conduct - Behaviour and Safety Standards:

Friendliness and respect are highly valued at Rabbits Eat Lettuce Festival. Bullying or
anti-social behaviour WILL NOT BE TOLERATED towards volunteers, crew or
patrons. If you experience any bullying behaviour please report it to your Manager or
the Volunteer Coordinator/s.

Safety is paramount and is EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY.


It is the responsibility of each individual to work in a safe manner and reduce the risk
of harm to yourself or others. If you observe a safety risk you MUST report it to a
Manager IMMEDIATELY.

Code of Conduct - Patron Behaviour:

Unruly, disrespectful or rude patrons are to be reported to Security or your Area


Manager (eg Gate Manager etc) You can also contact your Volunteer Coordinator/s if
in close proximity to the unruly/rude patron.

Please DO NOT engage with unruly or rude patrons as this could result in negative
outcomes for both volunteer, patron and the festival.

PLEASE NOTE: Adhering to this Volunteer Code of Conduct and


these Volunteer Policies will ensure that you receive your refund.
