Directions: Answer the following questions using your critical and analytical thinking
skills.

1. Why is it necessary to start with small, low-risk activities before undertaking

larger, more complex ones? Justify your answer.
- Because it is less risky doing small activities first and also you can tell if you
can take much larger activities because if you fail in small ones then it means
there are still something to improve. So it is better to take the activities step
by step from low risk first then if you think you have improve then take high
risk activities.

2. Why is it necessary to incorporate the concept of participatory development in

the planning and implementation of a project?
- Of course it is necessary. What are projects for? It is for the people right? So
those project makers must incorporate first the concept of participatory
development before planning and implanting projects. Because those people
knows what is the common needs than the one who is making the project.

Directions: Differentiate the following correctly.

1. Participatory development and Advocacy.

- Advocacy is like expressing their views on something and also this means
letting the voices of the people be heard using words. While in participatory
development the project makers or government encourage the public to
engage or participate in a project or activities that they want to made.
2. Good governance and Participatory development
- In participatory development they pursue to engage the public to their
development activities or projects while good governance means the
government is constitutionally oriented or the ability of the government to
function effectively and professionally.

activities.
 To involve the public in different project that are made in the community.
 To assist in the formation of new or strengthening existing self-formed and
self-run groups and organizations through which the rural poor gain access to
resources, efforts, and services and participate actively in project and activity
activities, including through self-proposed actions.
 To engage the public to the final decision making in the projects that are made.

Target Group:
 Designed primarily or entirely for persons living in rural poverty. However, non-poor
or better-off rural individuals, such as local leaders and government and NGO
officials, must be actively involved in several project actions, including specific
activities aimed at improving the delivery of services and facilities to the target cluster

Directions: Answer the following questions by using your critical and analytical thinking
skills.

1. What is the importance of promoting gender equality by all nations?

- Having an equal rights in both gender is a must. And also it must be
promoted by all nations like for example in job opportunities and also in
violence. Promoting gender equality also means protecting both men and
women against violence. And by job opportunities I mean we should look at
the skill of a person rather than their gender right because that is what job is
for, your own skill.
2. In your own opinion, what are the strategies used by the government which have
been proven to be effective in promoting gender equality in the Philippines?
Support your answer.
- I think it is not requiring gender on job qualifications. It gives equal
opportunities for both parties and also they will not look on the gender of the
person but instead look for the skills and what made the person qualify for
the job.
