SPRAY ENGINEERING DEVICES LIMITED (SED)

SED is a public limited company established in the year 1992. Spray Engineering Devices
Limited (SED) is the flagship company of SED Group, headquartered at Mohali, Chandigarh,
India. SED has emerged as one of the fastest growing technology driven company, striving to
provide world class integrated energy saving equipment and solutions for entire sugar industry
across the globe.

From a modest start of manufacturing of spray nozzles, SED today has established its existence
in more than 39 countries, providing Innovative Technological Solutions to Sugar & Allied
Industries. SED offers integrated energy efficient, cost effective turnkey solution for Sugar
Sector having specialization in Evaporation, Crystallization, Refining and Cooling &
Condensing System. Development and Implementation of innovative ideas & technologies
through energy efficient engineering has given credence to SED.

SED has identified several potential areas for energy conservation of sugar & allied industries to
achieve increased productivity at reduced costs with optimum utilization of resources. The steam
consumption of sugar industry has been achieved up to 25-26% on cane using SED’s innovative
technologies, equipment and solutions. It is possible with 15-20% steam consumption by using
current efficient equipment & technologies and further reduction is possible. The power (40
kW/Ton) consumption has been reduced up to 22-24 kW/Ton of cane and factory has been
managed to operate with Zero Fresh Water requirement.

From 3-4 years we are continuously trying to develop a novel idea for recycling of wastewater to
clean water eliminating conventional process. Now the module developed on Low Temperature
Evaporation Technology for recycling solution of wastewater to clean water is highly efficient
and eco-friendly plate falling film evaporator with MVR system for concentration of any type of
industrial or domestic wastewater. This Multiple stage prefabricated steel evaporator will operate
on Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) technology and are successful in operation for
more than 5 years on various applications.

designed to reduce energy and water consumption of the condensing/vacuum system to minimize
electrical power expenditure.

13. SPRAY POND

A spray pond is a reservoir in which warmed water is cooled for reuse by evaporation of water
discharged from nozzles in spray or mist form over the pond. The warm water is sprayed into
cooler air, cooling down as it reaches the water. The spray pond is the predecessor to the natural
draft cooling tower, which is much more efficient and takes up less space.

SED designed Spray Pond System is an innovative application of modern materials, designs and
architecture to a century old concept. It is totally made from lightweight but rugged material. The
increased efficiency is achieved by improving and redesigning Spray Pond Nozzles working very
efficiently with variable quantity of water and changing weather conditions. Our latest design of
Spray Pond with "Zero Depth Design" is the most efficient design beating all the conventional
Spray Pond designs. SED spraying system is most economical and efficient method of cooling
injection water utilizing naturally available wind energy and draft created by water. SED latest
