General Andika Perkasa

Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces

General Andika began his army career when he was commissioned upon graduation
from Military Academy in 1987 as a second lieutenant in the infantry corps. General Andika
assumed the position as the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces on
November 18, 2021.
Prior to serving as the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, in
2018 General Andika was the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army. In 2018 he was the
Commander of Army Strategic Command and the Commander of Army Training and
Doctrine Command (TRADOC). In 2014, he was appointed as the Commander of
Presidential Security Forces, after completing his assignment as the Chief of Army
Information Service in the Army Headquarter.
During his junior officer period, he spent most of his assignment in the Special Forces
Command. Subsequent to his Captain Career Course, he was once posted on the
Ministry of Defense before assigned to lead the Battalion 32 of the Special Forces. And
later as a continuation of his career, he served as the Commander of Regimental of
Educational and Training in Jakarta to enrich his experience both in command and staff
position.
Throughout his whole career, General Andika had completed many of military
courses such as the Counter Terrorism Course, Airborne Course, Intelligence Combat
Course, Staff Duties Course, Intelligence Strategic Course, and also National War College,
National Defense University (NDU) in the United States. He attended the Army Command
and Staff College in 2000. He was awarded medals of loyalty for his excellent services.

In addition to completing military courses, General Andika had earned his Master of
Artsdegree from The Military College of Vermont, Norwich University and Master of Science
from Harvard University.

General Andika was born in 1964 in Bandung, West Java, where he spent most of
his early education. General Andika is married to Mrs. Diyah Erwiyany and blessed with
three lovely children.
