NOW IN A WORD DOC EXPLAIN WITH YOUR OWN WORDS THE VIDEO EXPLANATION.

The blood transports oxygen and get rid of carbon dioxide, provide nutrients, and remove waste
products like urea, and provide hormones or antibodies. In the blood there are 3 different things;
Red blood cells, also known as erythrocytes and their important function is to transport oxygen
throughout the body, and these erythrocytes are the most abundant in the blood. They have a
biconcave disc shape and a large area to volume ratio.

White blood cells whose function is to protect our bodies against the invasion of disease-causing
organisms or pathogens. These are divided into lymphocytes, which make up 70% of the white
blood cells and their function is to produce things called antibodies and phagocytes, which occupy
25% and their function is to carry out phagocytosis. Lymphocytes can also generate something
called immunological memory cells; these are cells that can generate something called memory
cells, these are cells that can remember if you get the same pathogen again maybe in a few years’
time then you can recognize it much quicker make the antibodies in higher concentrations and
fight off the infection faster. We also tend to trick the body into believing that it is being affected
by a pathogen through vaccines, in this way, the body can reinforce these immunological memory
cells, which helps us when we get the disease from the vaccine.

Platelets are little fragments of little cells. They will form blood clots that stop bleeding but also it
prevents infection of the wound. Plasma makes up 55% of blood. Plasma is a liquid, which is
mostly 90% water and other things that our blood transports, like amino acids, glucose,
cholesterol, antibodies, hormones, carbon dioxide, lactic acid, and urea. All these things are
dissolved in the plasma and the plasma carries all those things around the body. Another function
of the plasma is to distribute heat around the body to help maintaining all the metabolic processes
and keeping our enzymes working effectively.
