LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT NEEDS ASSESSMENT PLAN (LDNA) FOR


GROUPS
School Year 2021-2022

I. Background and Rationale:


Part of DepEd mission is providing ,quality,equitable, culture-based and complete
basic education. It formulates, implements, and coordinates policies, plans, programs
and projects in the areas of formal and non-formal basic education. The department is
also required to continuously monitored and assess their employees because it helps
determine the gaps that are preventing it from reaching its desired goals
The teachers, as the implementer of the department, need to be fully equipped
with competency and teaching skills to achieve the goals of the department. Assessment
help educators identify, understand, and prioritize the needs that districts and schools
must address to improve performance.
San Antonio Elementary School will undergo this assessment to identify the
development needs of its teachers and further improve their performance in the delivery
of instruction.

II. LDNA Objective/s


A. To determine the teachers’ development needs as basis for future capability
enhancing intervention activities.
B. Establish baseline data as basis for identifying a responsive L &
D intervention.
C. Identify competency gaps of teachers to improve their
performance and competence in teaching.
D. Identify learning needs of teachers focusing on knowledge,
skills and attitudes (KSAs).
E. Track progress towards a desired level of proficiency.

III. Data gathering methods and Tools


I. Identify the Individual Teacher Development needs

2. Validation of the Document Analysis and Demographic Profile


a. Identify the common development needs of teachers
b. Conduct interview or FGD to validate the findings and prioritize
the developments needs identified as to seriousness, urgency and
growth potential.
c. Validate and analyze the Demographic profile of the group.
IV. Data Analysis
A. Identify teaching competency problems and their learning needs.
a. Document Review:
● Teacher Profile – Analyze demographic profile of teachers to
identify factors that may have impact on their continuing
professional development. Quantitative analysis in terms of
frequency count and percentage will be used to identify where most
teachers are in a range of demographic factor.

● PPST Competency Assessment Tool – (e-SAT) – analyze the result


of the e-SAT to identify the areas of low competence.

● Classroom Observation Feedback and Ratings – analyze the


content of the classroom observation sheets accomplished by
School Head for areas with learning needs of the teacher being
observed.

● Analyze the findings from all of the above items to find the groups
of teachers with teachers’ competency problems and their learning
needs.

b. Interview with the School Head / Key Teacher to identify KSA


requirements of each PPST competency:
School Head / Key teacher will be interviewed to get their
perspective of the KSA requirement of each PPST competency. The
School Head / Key teacher will validate the findings in the document
review regarding the teaching problems of teachers.

B. Assessment of each teacher on the gaps in KSA in each competency area.


As follow up of the PPST Self-Assessment Tool (e-SAT), the teachers
will answer an instrument that identifies the KSA needed to measure the gaps
along each competency area. Quantitative data analysis will be used.
C. Identify common and unique learning needs of teachers.

Analyze assessment of each teacher on gaps in KSA in each


competency area to identify common and unique needs. Qualitative data
and quantitative analysis will be used.
