Area of Investigation
There are businesses that are often not reaching their full potential due to lack of
knowledge, specifically on stock management and resource planning, this study aims
to build a cross-platform software that will help mostly traditional businesses to
manage and plan resources to prevent over stocking or under stocking their products,
monitor stock levels, create purchase orders if resources are available for the product,
declare if some resources are not available, input and output sales orders, maintains
design per product and cross- platform application on computers or smartphones for
easy access the software aims to also print out reports regarding stock availability and
stock consumption. And intelligently create purchase orders for stock replenishment
The company that will utilize this software is for this study is Pindian Enterprises, our
own family business that has been using the traditional way to manage stock and plan
their resources.
Reasons for Choice of Project

I chose this topic to help businesses that are having a hard time managing their
resources, help them evaluate the problem to find a solution on how to manage
their stocks intelligently through resource planning. This is a functionality of the
software to compute the stock availability against the sales orders and create
purchase orders based on results of analysis.
Project Context
The proposed features that will be developed based on the features in this software
are: inventory management, sales order management and purchase order
management.
Inventory management software is a software system for tracking inventory
levels, orders, sales and deliveries. It can also be used in the manufacturing
industry to create a work order, bill of materials and other production-related
documents it will also track the resources needed for each and every stock before
releasing purchase orders.
This is a quality document. Revision of this document should undergo the standard procedure. The original copy of this document is filed at the office of the

Sales Order management is simply the process of efficiently tracking and

fulfilling sales orders. The order management process starts from when a
customer places an order, to keeping track of that order until it is fulfilled.
Purchase order management is an internal procurement process adopted by

organizations to ensure that each and every purchase is necessary, justified and
optimized for costs.
Importance of the Study

Since majority of the businesses who are in the manufacturing and trade industry
here in the Philippines rely on tradional way of managing their inventory and
resources, I would like to introduce those businesses this project since it’s a cross-
platform software and will be much more easy to access small business can
implement my software to make stock management and resource planning more
efficiently.
Target Users/Beneficiary
Entrepeneurs will mostly benefit from this project, since they will be the ones who
will take control of this project for their own businesses.

According to Hasanati (2019), “The increasingly competitive business environment
has encouraged many actors to use information and communication technology as
a competitive advantage, including the garment industry. So far, difficulties in
controlling raw material inventories which causes problems for the production
process. If there is a shortage of raw materials, the production process cannot be
carried out, on the contrary if the raw material ordered is too excessive it will
cause excess and the high cost of raw material inventory” (p. 1).

Material requirements planning (MRP) is a production planning and inventory

management system used to manage logistics processes and designed to assist
production managers in scheduling and placing orders for items of dependent
demand. If it is implemented and used properly, it can be helpful for production
managers to plan capacity needs and allocate production time. The article
provides characteristics of the mentioned method; it describes the possible areas
of application in manufacturing, purchasing and delivering activities. The paper
considers the analysis of the production logistics in the chosen industrial company,
focusing on information MRP system and the bottlenecks in the production. The
work is a part of subject review about MRP applications in industrial companies.

Responding to regional and international competition, many manufacturing

companies have adopted MRP systems to improve their manufacturing
operations. Of primary interest to managers and users of MRP is the benefits that
can be derived from using the MRP technology. While the literature abounds with
MRP implementation studies, there is a dearth of research that examines the
determinants of specific MRP benefits. Knowledge of the determinants would
enable MRP managers and users to concentrate on key areas to achieve benefits
that match their company goals.

Inventory management has a strategic position in the company. As the one of the

most expensive assets of many companies, inventory representing almost 50% of

total invested capital. Therefore, this study aimed to analyse inventory
management, especially Material Requirement Planning (MRP) implementation on
the company. MRP system with lot sizing techniques such as Lot for Lot (LFL),
Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), and Periodic Order Quantity (POQ) are
implemented to decide when and how many materials are needed based on the
cost that company will pay. The research use descriptive comparative methods.
Most of the data analysed are about; product’s specification, number of orders in
one year period, lead time, setup cost, holding cost, and so on. The overall result
shows that MRP analysis with POQ technique is the best method’s with minimum
cost of all materials.

PT. Blambangan Foodpackers Indonesia is one of the big companies in the

Banyuwangi area and is a company engaged in the manufacturing industry that is
a company processing canned fish. The number of constraints in planning raw
material inventories that cause the occurrence of excess or accumulation of raw
materials and shortages causes freezing of operational costs. The implementation
of the material requirement planning (MRP) system is expected to be able to find
out the optimal amount of raw material inventory and the right ordering time to
meet production needs with optimal costs. This study was aimed to determine the
exact lot size technique based on inventory costs and to compare the MRP
method with inventory in the company based on total inventory costs. The
research method used was the determination of the lot size and MRP system. The
results showed that the lot for lot method for ASCK cans, ASCB cans, ASTB cans,
and pasta, while EOQ for ASTK cans, ASEPK cans, sugar, salt and flour. The MRP
system in each raw material can be used as an indicator to minimize total
inventory costs when compared to the company's method during the previous
period.
