Definition of Nursing Services


Service is a form of service activity carried out by government agencies both at the center
and in the regions, in the form of goods and services in the context of meeting the needs of the
community in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations (Kepmenpan 81/93).

Evaluate the success of the actions taken, with the stages of the nursing process such as:
1. Assessment,
2. Nursing diagnoses,
3. Planning, implementation,
4.Evaluation

Aspects of the quality of nursing services


According to Parasuraman, Berry and Zeithaml in Yamit (2002) and various studies on
several types of services that have been carried out have identified five
qualitycharacteristics used by customers in evaluating the quality of nursing ser

The five characteristics of the quality of nursing services are:


1. Reliability (Reliability)
2. Assurance (Based on many researches conducted, there are 4 aspects in this dimension,
namely friendliness, competence, and security. Irwan, (2002).
3. Tangibles (Physical Evidence)
4. Empathy (Providing a pleasant service and following the appropriate process, the
5. appropriate service quality can be realized, as the definition of quality from 02 Salusu
(1996).
6. Responsiveness

Meanwhile, according to the Indonesian Ministry of Health


(2008) has determined that nursing services are said to be of good 02 quality if nurses in
providing services to patients are in accordance
with the basic aspects of nurses. These basic aspects include
aspects:
• Reception Aspect
• Attention Aspect
• Communication Aspect
• Cooperation Aspect
• Aspects of responsibility

Meanwhile soegiarto (1993) in Wijono, D (1999) mentions fouraspects that the service
industry must possess, namely:
Ø Fast, the time used in serving guests is at least the same as the standard timelimit. It is
the time limit for visiting the hospital that has been determined.
Ø Exactly, the speed of accuracy in work does not guarantee customer satisfaction. How
nurses in providing services to patients is appropriate to provide assistance with
complaints from patients.

OBJECTIVE OF NURSING IN WARD


Ø Maximum comfort and happiness by way of pleasant surroundings.
Ø Qualitative/comprehensive care to the patient.
Ø Care based on the patient’s needs.
Ø Accurate assessment of illness.
Ø Adequate material resources at all times.
Ø Health education to the patient and attendants.
Ø Managerial skills as and when required.
Ø Privacy at all levels.

FACTORS TO BE CONSIDERED IN NNING HOSPITAL NURSING SERVICE


Number and type of patient.
▪ Number of beds and type of ward.
▪ The services required.
▪ Procedures/techniques necessary for care.
▪ Number and type of personal needed to perform care effectively.
▪ Physical facilities.
▪ Provisional of equipment and supplies

DAY TO DAY PROBLEM IN NURSING SERVICES


• Shortage of nurses.
• Lack of motivation.
• Negative attitude.
• Lack of training.

Nurse: Oh, you are Mr. Ryan’s family, then?
Patient: Yes, right.
Nurse: What can I do for you?
Patient: When is the next doctor’s visit?
Nurse: If it’s gastroenteritis patient, then it will be Dr. Murphy. Patient: When will Dr. Murphy
visit?
Nurse: Please wait within today. He will visit around 5pm to 7pm or you can inform me again
later.
Patientz: Of course. Thank you.
