LSHS RULES AND REGULATIONS IN THE NEW NORMAL


S.Y. 2021-2022
INTRODUCTION
COVID-19 pandemic has brought so many changes in the lives of everybody. The
education system is among those that are greatly affected. From the traditional face to
face delivery of learning to distance learning that is indeed very challenging to school
personnel both teaching and non-teaching, parents and students.
With the changes in the educational landscape of every school, Labas Senior High
School will be using two learning modalities, the online and modular modality. Labas
Senior High School adopts the Suggested Strategies in Implementing Distance Learning
Delivery Modalities (DLDM) for School Year 2021 – 2022 (DepEd Memorandum DM-CI-
2020-00162) guidelines for Online Lesson which adapts a combination of asynchronous
and synchronous learning.

The opening of classes for this school year 2021-2022 will be on September 13,
2021.

RULES ON CONFEDENTIALITY AND SECURITY (R.A 10173 or DATA PRIVACY ACT


OF 2012)

Online learning requires the use of a technology or software platform such as


Zoom and Google Meet. Among the personal information of the students that are
commonly required and needed of these platforms are name and email address. These
platforms might use images or video, audio and chat.

School personnel and students will strictly follow Republic Act 10173 also known
as the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations. Data
collected from students will be used for documentation, profiling, records keeping and
other related purposes only. In some occasions, students may be required to turn on
their cameras while attending their class or other school activities, live video
conferencing which may be recorded. In this regard, it is recommended that students
must have some space for a quiet and undistracted environment. Rules of confidentiality
will also be applied for counseling sessions and a written consent form will be provided
for both students and parents prior to the conduct of counseling.

There is also a potential risk on the loss of confidentiality and security in using
the platforms preferred by the school. The possibility of technology failure and loss
internet connection at times must also be expected. The risk of a possible access of
unauthorized person might arise and students are reminded to be more cautious.

Cyber-safety shall be observed following the provided policies for the use of
technology resources, not giving password and follow the concept of think before you
click.

LEARNING MODALITY
There will be no conduct of face-to-face class sessions with students.
For online learning modality, students will be given their official class schedule
and students under this modality are required to attend their class based on the given
schedule. The conduct of online class sessions as scheduled utilizing virtual classroom.
The submission of activities, assignments, projects will de depending on the platform
that teachers will use such as google classroom.
For modular modality, students will be given digitized modules and
communication to students/parents will be done through text or call, messenger, email
or FB group. The school will issue a memo/ announcement on the schedule of the
submission of student’s output under modular modality.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF STUDENTS
With the changes in the educational system due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the
following are the duties/responsibilities of students:
1. Student must follow the rules and regulation of LSHS student handbook
and class rules set by the adviser and teachers in their respective class.
2. Students must have an email address preferably with their recent photo
as profile picture.
3. Student under online learning modality must attend their class sessions
as per scheduled and must observe punctuality. It is advised that students
must be in class 10 to 15 minutes before the class begins.
4. Students must accomplish all the given task by the teachers following
specific deadlines
5. The school is not requiring the students to wear the prescribed uniform
but must dressed properly and must observed good grooming. Students
must observe proper dress code when attending online class and in case
there is a need to go to school.
6. Prepare the necessary things need such as pen and paper and be in a
comfortable, quiet place at home that is free from any distraction.
7. Check your gadget and internet connection. In cases that the student
losses or does not have an internet connect, look for other options to
inform the teacher regarding the matter.
8. Listen to the teacher attentively especially during the lecture and
participate actively during the discussion and other activities provided.
9. Speak clearly and politely. Avoid using harsh words and disrespectful
languages.
10. Acts of bullying/cyberbullying is strictly prohibited under DepEd Order
No. 40, series of 2012 known as Child Protection Policy and Republic Act
No. 10627 otherwise known as the Anti-Bullying Act of 2013. Bullying
related incidents will be address following the Regional Child Protection
Policy and Anti-Bullying (RCPPA) Manual of DepEd Region 4A
CALABARZON.
11. Give others a chance to participate and respect other’s ideas and opinions
and observe individual differences.
12. Be respectful and mute your microphone while the teacher or anybody
from the class is talking. Use the icon “raise hand” if you wish to speak
and turn on the microphone if it is your turn to speak. Likewise, if you do
not have a microphone or your microphone is defective, use the chat box
for communication at participation.
13. Avoid making destructions and use the chat box appropriately for
comments, questions, suggestions which are relevant and related to the
lesson/topic.
14. During communication with teachers and staff, student should be
courteous, polite and respectful whether thru chat, emails and phone
calls. Please also observe regular working hours schedule (Monday to
Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm)
15. During webinars, forum, online discussion, and other related school
programs/activities students must be courteous, polite and respectful.
16. Students must observe honesty. Copying the work of others and allowing
others to copy one’s work is prohibited.
ROLE OF PARENTS

The parents have great share and vital role in the success of their children especially
this new normal using distance learning. The following are the parent’s roles:
1. Provide their children moral, emotional and financial support needed in the
conduct of distance learning. Understand that their children might be needing
some time to adjust with the new set up of education.

2. Monitor their children regularly regarding time spent in performing online and
offline learning tasks

3. Encourage and motivate their children to attend online class based on the
given schedule

4. Provide their children a place that is conducive to learning. Ensure a space


free from destruction during online class.

5. Instill values and faith in their children.

6. Remind their children to maintain good health. Monitor their sleeping time,
screen time or gadget exposure and nutrition.

7. Attend meetings, conferences and other related school activities.

8. Regularly check emails, phone calls or text messages. School personnel might
be sending some important messages regarding announcements and other
information that might require your cooperation.

9. Coordinate with the class adviser any inquiries or concern regarding student’s
academic status and other school matters.

10. The school provide services, school activities and programs for students.
Support the school by allowing students to attend and participate and rest assure
that the school observe safety protocols online.

11. Remind students about the policy of school. Discuss with them behavioral
expectations which will contribute to their success.

12. Follow the school official FB page to be updated with important


announcements and activities.

CONSENT FOR THE CONDUCT OF SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Labas Senior High School have various virtual activities and programs
provided to students who are currently enrolled for S.Y. 2021-2022. In this regard, may
we ask you to mark a check on the space provided on whether you allow or you do not
allow your child to participate and engage with the school activities.

AGREEMENT

I have read the LABAS SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL RULES AND REGULATIONS IN
THE NEW NORMAL. I understand the content and agree to support all the policies.
Any additional or adjustments in this policy the school will issue an official posting
to be coordinated with the adviser or will be sent via email. It is understood that these
changes are still part of the policy and must be followed by the signatory within the
academic year.
