The role of the multiple intelligence theory in

classroom instruction.

By definition, classroom instruction means teaching/training provided by qualified

instructors mostly licensed or professional by the ways of demonstrating, lectures, presentations
etc. It is associated with what procedure the learners must do in order to achieve their learning
goal. Multiple intelligence theory was proposed by Harvard psychologist Howard Earl Gardner,
the theory states that our traditional views of intelligence is only limited. He said that intelligence
is divided into multiple spectrums rather than just one or two. These spectrums included are as
seen in the figure.

The multiple intelligence theory has a beneficial role in classroom instruction, it provides
the acknowledgement of different types of intelligence found in each student. Given this
information, the instructor can take into consideration how the student can handle the instruction,
what are the student’s strength and weaknesses and what are the ways to make them engaged on
the topic based on their interest or intelligence. In conclusion, students are given the opportunity
to discover their various intelligences and develop it for their own benefit. The presentation of
classroom instruction that is affected by the multiple theories of intelligence will serve as a
lesson that we all have different ways of studying and learning the topics instead of one way that
is not effective to all students.
