Definisi Possesive Pronoun


Quoted from Grammarly, possessive pronouns have the meaning of show that something
belongs to someone. In simple terms, possessive pronouns are pronouns that function to show
ownership.
Possessive pronouns are used when the object of possession is known by context. Usually
there is a predecessor or antecedent, singular or plural, related to the object of possession.
Example:

 My brother’s study table was pink. Mine was light blue.


 I like my job. Do you like yours?
 Whose wallet is this? It’s hers.
 Those aren’t our new uniforms. Those are theirs.

Mine
 So I say the horses and chickens are mine and Alex says the other animals are his.

Definisi Demonstrative Pronoun
Demonstrative pronouns are adverbs that use the parameters number (amount) and distance
(distance). The nouns that are replaced are generally in the form of objects, but can also be in
the form of people or things. These English pronouns include: this, that, these, and those.

designated in a sentence more specific so that the other person will more easily digest what
we mean. It also aims to reduce confusion in communication both in writing and verbally.

Parameter Demonstrative Pronoun

• Number in the form of singular or plural. In plural we usually use those and these. While
singular we use this and that.

• Distance in the form of range or time (far or near). In English we use "far" and "near"

Bisa dikatakan kata pengganti ini hanya memiliki beberapa kata saja, sehingga ada 3
aturan penting dalam menggunakannya. Di antaranya adalah:

• Demonstrative pronouns always identify the noun in the sentence, whether specifically
mentioned or not. For example: "I can't believe this". In this case we do not know "this"
specifically, but we know "this" which is meant to exist and exist.

• These pronouns are always used to describe animals, places, or other things. Not only that,
this pronoun can also be used to describe a person or human as long as it is specifically
mentioned. For example: This sounds like Mary singing.

• Not to be confused with demonstrative pronouns and demonstrative adjectives. These two
things can indeed be said to be identical or the same, but there is a difference that you can
remember. When discussing adjectives, he will qualify the nouns in the sentence. As for
pronouns, they can always stand alone.
