Dear Parents,

Warm Christmas greetings to you! The winter break brings to mind


festivities, fun, frolic and much needed relaxation. The students get time to
unwind and enjoy. Amidst all the merriment, it is important that the students
stay in touch with their studies. These holidays help the child to be better
prepared for the remaining part of the year and to feel more confident. For
the same reason, Self-learning worksheets have been prepared to keep the

Based on the folk stories which we had discussed during EBSB (Ek Bharat Shresth
Bharat) project, please prepare a short speech (1 min- 1.5 min max) about any
folktale from Arunachal Pradesh / Meghalaya, that you liked the most (its favourite
character, lesson learnt etc.). Please note that this declamation activity is
compulsory for all and shall be graded. You may refer to the following link for

Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions that follow:
Lyla and her twin sister Diya had heard in church about how they should care for
others.This gave them a great idea. ‘Let’s start a new club at school named the
C.A.R.E. CLUB!’ Lyla said, ‘The Caring and Respecting Everybody Club.’ Diya
agreed that it was a wonderful idea.

Every night they planned what they would do the next day to show others that they
were loved.

One day they stood up for a little boy on the playground who was being picked on by
other kids. On another day they stayed after school to help a little girl learn to read.
On the weekend, they walked a neighbour’s dog and even gave the dog a good bath.

The other kids at school were impressed by this idea. Soon, they were also keen to
join the club. So, Lyla and Diya opened the club to new members. Everyone had to
promise to show love to others.

Everyone pitched in with some money each week so they could buy flowers for sick
people or a card to cheer them up. Soon, everyone had heard about the club and
wanted to be a part of this great idea.
