Praise and gratitude I pray to the presence of God Almighty because it is with His
grace that I was able to complete this Mini Research Report which is based on “ Tanjung
Bira Beach Destination “.
Before and After the Covid-19 Pandemic”. I would like to thank my supervisor, Mam Esa

WE realized that the MR we worked on still had many shortcomings, both in terms of

PRELIMINARY
1.1. Background
Before visiting a tourist attraction, it is necessary to find out how the condition
of the place is. In this increasingly sophisticated and modern era, this information is
not something that is difficult to find, even to the point of being able to provide and
recommend tourist attractions that are very beautiful even those that are still
beautiful. In the following, we present a report on one of the famous tourist
attractions that are famous for being beautiful and crowded. This report is in the form
of a Research Mni which is also to fulfill one of our tasks from the Business English
course.

Tanjung Bira Beach


2.1. Description
South Sulawesi as a province is one of the tourist destinations in Indonesia by
offering various kinds of tourism objects, be it natural, cultural, and even artificial tourism.
The large number of tourism potentials in South Sulawesi is able to attract domestic and
even foreign tourists, has a geographical location consisting of mountainous and coastal
areas so that it has a variety of tribes, cultures, and other tourist objects, making it
interesting to visit both nationally and internationally.
One of the leading tourist attractions in South Sulawesi is Tanjung Bira Beach in
Bulukumba Regency. Tanjung Bira Beach is a beach with unparalleled beauty. The beauty
of Tanjung Bira is born from the perfect blend of clear sea water, white sand that stretches
along the coast, and rocky hills that fortify the coast. The combination is like a perfect nature
painting that can make the eyes amazed when they see it.
The beauty of Tanjung Bira's White Sand Beach has not been widely heard by
everyone throughout Indonesia. However, if you are one of those people who are hypnotized
by its beauty, then this amazing nature painting can certainly make an impression that is
impossible to forget. Tanjung Bira is also one of the tourist attractions that have been
become a pillar that supports the regional economy of Bulukumba Regency, especially in the
tourism in general has attracted a large number of tourists.

Area Scale : ± 5 km2 (50m x 1km)

2.3. Tours Offered
In addition to enjoying the panoramic view of Tanjung Bira beach, here you can also enjoy
other facilities, namely:
• Swimming Equipment
One of the advantages of this beach is its underwater beauty. Therefore, the beach manager
provides facilities in the form of snorkeling equipment at a very cheap price.
• Lodging
Around this beach there are also facilities in the form of lodging that you can rent. These
lodging facilities vary from low prices such as homestays, to high prices such as villas or
bungalows.
• For public
The manager of the Tanjung Bira beach attraction also provides public facilities for all
visitors, free of charge. There are facilities, namely prayer rooms, public toilets, parking lots,
beachside seats and others.
• Inter Island Boat
On the outskirts of the beach there are also boats ready to take you to continue your tour to
the other side of the island. There are two islands that are most sought after by tourists,
namely Kambing Island and Liukang Loe Island. If you travel to Tanjung Bira Beach, then
don't miss the two islands. There you can do various types of tourist activities, such as
snorkeling, exploring the tempting shoreline and much more.
• Culinary
Here you can enjoy culinary menus in several culinary places with relatively cheap prices.
The average food menu sold around this beach is sourced directly from Tanjung Bira beach
which is caught by local fishermen.
The culinary delights around this beach are cooked with different and savory flavors. There
is a spicy taste, not spicy there is also a sour taste.
2.4. COMMUNITY ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES
Local communities are people who live in tourist areas. They are one of the important
actors in tourism because in fact they will provide most of the attractions at the same time
determine the quality of tourism products. In addition, local people is the direct owner of
tourist attractions that are visited and consumed by tourists. Water, land and forests are
tourism resources that are consumed by tourists and tourism actors others are in their
hands. Art which is one of the tourist attractions and also almost wholly owned by them.15
The economic activities in the tourist area include: providing entertainment services and
short trips to islands that are still within the area the beach. Service providers are all
businesses that produce goods and services for tourism.
The tourism business includes, among others:

e. Food and beverage service
f. Provision of accommodation
g. Organizing incentive meetings, conferences and exhibitions

2.5. The Impact of The Pandemic

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Tanjung Bira Beach tourism was closed
according to Government policy to prevent the spread of the corona virus in the
surrounding area, namely Bulukumba Regency. This closure is carried out with a
special status for foreign tourists, so that there are no more tourist activities around
the coast because there are also resident villages and crossing ports to Selayar
Regency. This tour experienced a decrease in income from these tourism activities.
