When I first heard of Deepak Suchdev, a farmer scientist living near Indore we went to meet
them. Deepak ji knew that out of all of us I will pursue organic farming my one meet with him
opened up a possibility for immense happiness and a life dedicated to experimenting. Fun part
is I didn't even ask any questions.

-Devendra Satalkaar 1st generation Farmer.

The 8th convention is going to be celebrated in Indore, Madhya Pradesh next year. In a zero
waste ethic, as a festival that celebrates organic farming pursuit.

Fresh out of the pandemic we have much to celebrate and grieve over. Let us do it together. To
share and learn at the convention, it is only natural to be stronger at the other side of the
program. We plan to host 3000 people passionate about Organic Farming in Indore for 3 days.

Leading up to the program we plan to go to the grassroots. Madhya Pradesh has the largest
Organic farmer base in the country by engaging in a Beej Yatra that spans across the 55
districts of Madhya Pradesh over a 90 day period. A drive for seed security to create Seed
Bank.

Parallel to this a drive to sensitize the consumers, we plan on an agile series of events that
brings consumers with beliefs common to our one step closer to the food we grow, an intern a
solution that works for consumers and farmers.

ORGANIZERS
ORGANIC FARMING ASSOCIATION OF INDIA

OFAI founded in 2002, after its 18-year journey is still the only membership-based national association of organic
farmers (genuine default organic farmers, rain-fed natural farmers, tribal farmers, non-certified, certified organic
farmers), organic farming promoters and green stores. Furthering ecology friendly development, think OFAI.

The founders were Academics of another breed, according to the constitution of the organization, the President is
always a genuine organic farmer. The organization is rooted in the oneness as much as the diversity of its
stakeholders. Concerned about the ill effects of agrochemicals on human health and the environment and the
deteriorating economic condition of farmers, is the bedrock. OFAI is a national level voluntary organization.

The main objective of this organization was to increase the area of organic farming in the country by attracting the
attention of the policymakers of the country towards eco-friendly farming methods by connecting the farmers to
agroecology based farming. Of all its initiatives the most important was to organize such a conference by organic
farmers for organic farmers in a new state every two years.

By the last convention at udaipur, in 2019 a switch was realized and objectives calibrated. A change in leadership, the
leadership handed their work to next-generation of organic farming youngsters. Grassroot presence was called for, so
that the farmers of that state can work in better coordination with their own representatives. A decentralization of
process and power, the members of each state of India have been motivated to form their own state organization. We
focus on activities that help the organic movement to grow and now also assuring markets to organic farmers.
All state organizations are unique and independent, with the central office of OFAI as an umbrella.
