SOP – NUST BOWLING ALLEY

1. General NUST has established an international standard Bowling Alley having

4 x Lanes. This Bowling alley is equipped with state of the art equipments and system,
aligned with United States Bowling Congress (USBC) standards/rules. The latest sync
scoring system will allow the players to have their statistics stored in cloud that can be
accessed from any sync scoring system in the world. This facility will provide an
opportunity to hunt the talent in field of Bowling Sports and will improve mental and
physical health of individuals.

2. Responsibility Sports Branch (Adm Dte) will be responsible for smooth

functioning of Bowling Alley.

3. Eligibility

Bowling Alley facility is available for: -

a. Students

b. Faculty members

c. Officers (incl NSTP Tenants)

d. Family Members (Faculty/Officers)

e. Guests

4. Bowling Fee/Rates

a. Rs. 200 per player per game.

5. Dress Code

a. Proper shoes for bowling to be worn i.e Sole made of leather/PU.

b. Following is NOT allowed at Bowling Alley: -

(I) Sandals /flip flop, boots or bare feet.

(II) Pointed shoes/Spikes and heels.

(III) Sleeveless T-Shirts, shorts.

(IV) Shalwar Qameez (males)

6. Guidelines / Instructions
a. Bowling Alley facility will be available to indls on first come first serve basis.
b. Do not enter the “approach area” until the bowlers on your sides have
completed their turn.
c. Bowler on the right goes first.
d. After bowling player must leave the approach area.
e. Do not throw the bowling ball in the air.
f. Try to keep your celebration or despair to a minimum, so that other players
are not disturbed.
g. The Bowling Alley is equipped with state of the art and highly expensive
equipments, hence members are requested to use the equipments carefully.
h. Kids under 8 years must be accompanied with an adult.
i. Indls must abide by the rules and regulations. In case of violation, they will not
be allowed to enter the Bowling Alley’s premises.
j. Food items, pets and firearm are not allowed inside the Bowling Alley’s
premises.
k. Indls must take care of their personal belongings. (Sports branch will not be
held responsible for loss of any valuable or mishap while playing).

l. Indls should not enter the bowling approach area except players.

m. Mixed game i.e males and females in one lane is not allowed. However,
family as a unit can play mixed game.

n. A person found involved in damaging any kind of item in Bowling Alley

premises will be fined/penalized.
o. Purchase of bowling ticket binds the player that he unconditionally agrees to
SOPs/instrs of Bowling Alley.
7. Bowling Alley Timing

Sat – Thu 1300 hrs – 2100 hrs
Friday Off

8. Conclusion These SOPs have been formulated to streamline the operational use
of Bowling Alley facility. It is expected that these instructions are adhered in true letter and
spirit. Sports facilities are established to create a healthy environment inside the NUST
Islamabad Campus, therefore upkeep of these facilities is the responsibility of all users.

Note:- Bowling Alley will remain closed on official holidays.
