Questions to Ask Yourself

Reece Pocklington

1. Who are you?

I am Reece Edward Pocklington, born on the 11th October 2001.

2. Where are you from? Anything interesting about the city, town or
country I come from?
I am from Maryport, a small town in the Lake District. My town has a lot
of Roman history and the founder of the White Star Line (who built the
Titanic) was born there. Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth are from
small towns right next to mine. The county I come from (Cumbria) is
used as a popular filming location due to the scenic views of mountains
and lakes.

3. Have you travelled anywhere? Any interesting stories?

Yes, my favourite places I’ve travelled to have been New York City,
Rome and Belgium. Nothing particularly interesting happened, but when
we were in New York, my mum saw a truck that sold edibles and thought
it was an ordinary sweet truck, we had to stop her and found it pretty
funny.

4. Tell us a bit about your family – any interesting stories or

characters?
I live with my mum, stepdad and sister. My mum is a bank clerk, my
stepdad owns an auto-repair business, and my sister works with children
with disabilities. Interesting family members include my auntie who went
to school with Mick Jagger – my family became good friends with his
family, my Polish uncle who escaped the Nazis and fled to England, later
marrying my auntie and another uncle of mine who contributed to the
building of the English Channel tunnel. There might also be a chance that
I’m related to the founder of my hometown – Humphrey Pocklington
Senhouse.

5. Do you have any interesting or unusual friends or family friends?

The majority of my friends are musical theatre students, so I tend to get
serenaded quite a lot. I also live with someone who’s uncle was a country
western movie star (Victor McLaglen).

6. What are your hobbies and interests?

I am a community volunteer and in an award-winning mental health
campaign. My hobbies include theatre, sea-cadets, fell walking and
swimming. I am interested in musicals, old age Hollywood, social
activities and filmmaking.

7. What else in life interests you? What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about experiencing new things and learning. I feel it is
important to go through life and embrace different cultures, places and
lifestyles; I believe this is the key to a good life, where you are aware of
plenty of things that occur in the world and not being blinded by a
