Magnus
the Gnome
Driving Home!
Sheila and Lindsey
Peterson’s creation
for the 17th Annual
Festival of Trees
was one of 44 items
auctioned off by Auzzy
Austin with all proceeds
going to the Valley
County HOPE Project.
Magnus the Gnome
Driving Home topped
them all dollar-wise —
it was a bidding war
between a couple of
ladies — and when the
dust settled Magnus
went for $1,100!
Now for some more
holiday news, the
Supreme Court has
ruled that there cannot
be a Nativity Scene
on Capitol Hill this
Christmas season. This
is not for any religious
reason. They simply
have not been able to
find three Wise Men in
the Nation’s Capital. A
search for a virgin also
is continuing. There are
no problems, however,
finding enough asses
to fill the stable.

A man was on trial for murder and if convicted,

would get the life imprisonment. His brother found out
that an Irish man was on the jury and figured he would
be the one to bribe.
He told the Irish man that he would be paid
$10,000 if he could convince the rest of the jury to
reduce the charge to manslaughter.
The jury was out an entire week and returned with
a verdict of manslaughter.
After the trial, the brother went to the Irish man’s
house, told him what a great job he had done and paid
him the $10,000.
The Irish man replied, “But I can tell you, it wasn’t
easy to convince the rest of the jury to change the
charge to manslaughter. They all wanted to let him off.”
