ORIENTATION PROPOSAL
I. ACTIVITY TITLE:
School Virtual Orientation on Opening of Classes to Parents/Guardians and Learners

II. BACKGROUND AND RATIONALE

The school is not solely responsible for a student's academic and overall development. Parents must be
involved at every stage of the process in order to maintain track of their child's progress throughout the academic
year. While they may not be able to do so on a daily basis due to their own work obligations, the school offers
parent orientation seminars to cover many areas of the student's education.
This parent virtual orientation is usually held on the first day of school to give parents an overview of the
school's various teaching approaches. Parents would be able to execute the learning process at home, ensuring that
the student's learning is not disrupted. They can also offer new, more innovative ways to teach, which may help
pupils learn more effectively.
Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the Department of Education
(DepEd) is preparing for a "extraordinarily tough school year." Despite the fact that we are in an unprecedented
period, the Department of Education has stated that education must continue.
In this regard, and in light of the current pandemic crisis, the Asan Sur Elementary School faculty, led by
School Head, Mrs. Mercedes M. Ruiz, collaborate through online orientation to increase awareness among its
students and their families about the school year's preparedness.

III. DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY/PROGRAM

Since we are implementing the IATF health protocols, all participants and lecturers must wear their
facemasks, face shields and always observe social distancing. Lectures will be delivered through staggered basis
because there will be disinfection day after the first day of the orientation and it will resume the following day.
This orientation will be conducted on October 20 & 22, 2020 .Each day there will be (30) thirty participants in the
morning and (30) thirty participants in the afternoon. Three rooms will be used in a separate buildings. In each
room there will be (10) ten participants in the morning and (10) ten participants in the afternoon with the same
time and schedule. All participants with the same place/address will stay together with social distancing.
The orientation starts with the first speaker Mdm Mercedes M. Ruiz, the principal who will discuss about the
rationale and objectives of the orientation and the different DepEd Orders related to it. This will follow the
discussion of the remaining topics by the advisers. To facilitate systematic conduct of the orientation, there will be
simultaneously scheduling. The topic of the first speaker will recorded through video presentation to be played at
the same time scheduled.
After the lecture proper there will be open forum and practicum to test if they learned so that ther is an
assurance that they could do the job.
Awarding of certificates follows after giving impressions.

IV. OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the said training are the following:

a. To create a welcoming environment for students and parents;

b. Build a sense of community among the students, parents, and teachers by providing opportunities
