REFLECTION PAPER

I had already heard about all the teacher’s responses in terms of the different issues
that they encounter during face to face classes and in pandemic settings of classes.
Teachers actually encounter different issues about the learning style of the students
when it comes to face to face interaction of classes. These are the following: First, they
will need to handle students with different behavior. Second, they must also be aware
about the classroom management to ensure that the students are organized on their
studies. Third, most of the students lack motivation in going to school like absenteeism
can never fade to all the students. When it comes to online classes/modular way of
learning, issues such that they may encounter is that, the student’s connectivity some of
them are using data which can be difficult for them to keep up school activities,
Student’s lack of interest they are not motivated to study because they are not used to
study in online setup, Teacher’s are also having a hard time preparing modules for the
learner’s because it is not easy, and the interaction of the student’s and teachers’
became less. I think in today’s kind of classes like online setup many of the students
have a hard time motivating themselves to study since there is no interaction between
the teachers and they are mostly prone to using different distractions like watching
movies, online games, etc. In my opinion learning is really challenging most of the time
but as a teacher and a student we need to be flexible all the time. Like students, to
continue their studies during this pandemic they need to manage their time and avoid
social media interactions and learn the habits of studying. And also for the teachers they
need to understand and be patient of all the student problems that they may encounter
especially in this pandemic setting. I think this kind of setup could be better if we
actually know more about how those teachers right now manage the learning of the
students. So I asked a mathematics teacher how she handles the situations right now,
like how the teacher is able to provide ways to continue students' learning today. As she
said, through modules we use simple activities that are connected to the competency,
and also the other materials like sending a link of video lessons on youtube for further
information about the topic. As well as for the students who are having difficulties in
solving or answering math problems we have a math tutorial for all the students that are
allowed by their parents to meet with the teachers to teach. They also have a home
visitation for the students to deepen the interaction of the parents and increase students'
performance. In this way of learning set up that is far beyond face to face classes which
the interaction of the students and teachers involve and you can see the facials
expression of the students, pandemic setting of classes is a very challenging one, you
can’t able to see kids who are struggling their facial reactions, as well as if they actually
doing their tasks on their own. But based on the teacher’s response in online learning of

classes, they are actually trying their best so that education still continues. I believe that
everyone can improve and continue to learn during this pandemic by communicating,
motivating, and helping those students who need help, through the involvement of
teachers and parents support.
