The Somaliland minstry of health headed by a minister appointed by the President, supported by

Vice-minster and administered by director general ha six departments namely department of


planning and policy, Dep. of human resource development, Dep. of finance and administration, Dep.
of health service, Dep. of public health, and Dep. of communicable diseaswe control.

The minstry of health develpoment (MohD) has revealed a general policy for the medical and
healthcare practices among the heath practitioners regulating their activiities in health profession
and enhancing the health status of the community. The national health policy is set to run the
minstry with the aim of inproving the good governance and leadertship functions for health-care
systems, enhancing the quality and quantity of human resources in health system and
strengethening the national information system.

in addition, the health service delivery to the local community is been decentralized to all health
posts and community medical centers at different regions and disricts of the counrty as primary,
secondary and tertiary health-care system with notable success in health service disrtibution and
vaccine provision, establishment of health centers in rural areas and minimization of maternal
mortality rate. Observatory team of experts monitor and evaluate the health facilities either the
public or private health centers ensuring that the standard medical equipments are used and how
skilful and professional are the health practitions in order to regulate the country's health system
with the community need assesment outcomes.
