otherwise stated. All dependants who are travelling must pay the fee whether or not they are
included in the main applicant's passport.

 
: Your visa application fee will be refunded only if the application is withdrawn in
writing prior to any processing taking place or if your biometric information has not been
taken.
Refunds will not be given if your application is refused or if a long term visit visa is granted for

Applicants on official business/duties may be exempt from immigration and /
or biometric checks. It may not be appropriate to charge a fee dependant on
the purpose of the official visit.
Private visits may not be extended this courtesy and would be subject to both
fee and immigration &/or biometric checks
Dependants of members of the armed forces are not exempt from immigration
control. However, dependants of military personnel of NATO and
Commonwealth countries posted for service in the UK are exempt from the
requirement to provide biometrics as a matter of policy. This exemption does
not apply when the applicant is a dependant of a forces member coming to
the UK for training.

application fee. There is no charge for this payment service. The Bank will issue a demand
draft in favour of the "The British High Commission" payable in New Delhi if you are
submitting your application in Northern or Eastern India. If you are submitting your application
in Western India the demand draft will be in favour of "The British High Commission" payable
in Mumbai. If you are submitting your application in Southern India the demand draft will be in
favour of "The British High Commission" payable in Chennai. It will be valid for 6 months from
the date of issue. You should submit your visa application within this 6 month period. You
must attend the bank in person with your original passport. In the case of a family application,
one of the applicants can visit a branch of the bank along with the original passports of all the
family members applying for the visa. Please bring the demand draft with you to the visa
application centre when you submit your visa application. 2

You can pay the visa application fee by getting a demand draft issued only by a nationalised
or a foreign bank in favour of the "The British High Commission" payable in New Delhi if you
are submitting your application in Northern or Eastern India. If you are submitting your
application in Western India the demand draft needs to be in favour of the "The British Deputy
High Commission" payable in Mumbai (this will change to "The British High Commission"
payable in Mumbai with effect from 1 September 2010). If you are submitting your application
in Southern India the demand draft needs to be in favour of "The British High Commission"
payable in Chennai. Bank charges for this service will vary. Please bring the demand draft
with you to the visa application centre when you submit your visa application. Please note that
separate demand drafts are required for each visa application.

Please note: We regret that we are unable to accept bank drafts drawn from a co-operative
bank.

You can pay the visa application fee at any of the visa application centres when you submit
your visa application. Standard Chartered Bank facilities are located in all visa application
centres for this purpose. The Standard Chartered Bank will apply a service charge of Rs.200
(inclusive of taxes) for this facility.
