Q1) Policy on Leave of Absence: Workers are sometimes forced to be absent

from work for various reasons , ranging from health issues to vacation plans. Even
if it is not required by law, it is always beneficial to let your workers know in
advance what benefits you offer. Different kinds of leave (sick leave, Paid Time
Off, maternity leave, parental leave etc.) are separate entities and may offer
different treatment. Keeping all this in writing, in addition to the rules necessary to
govern the taking of leave, is the best way to provide workers with clear
information.

Health & safety at work: Regulations for worker safety are a necessity for
everyone who owns or runs a company. It is important that your workers work in a
secure and healthy workplace. Accidents and hazardous conditions can lead you to
court. If you also calculate the damage to the reputation and the lack of trust of
workers, complacency when it comes to safety might be the biggest mistake you'll
ever make. A written policy shows that you are taking the issue seriously.

Carry out the recruitment process without biases. Treat all the workers equally.
Follow the regulations needed to build a legal company. Make sure you offer equal
pay for all the workers.

Employee job descriptions: Explain the role of each employee, including their
level of responsibility, the amount of decision-making authority, desired outcomes
and key duties. Create strategies for measuring productivity and enhance staff
through training.
Q2)a. Since Andrew Dave wants expand his company to by diversifying into
leather bags, leather belts, leather wallets and leather jackets he should adopt the
Departmentation of Products structure for his organisation.
Since it plans to diversify into new products, such as leather bags, leather belts,
leather wallets and leather jackets. He  will have to set up a separate  divisions for
these various products.

b. Three reasons for selecting this organisational structure would be:

 Promotes the fixing of responsibilities as division heads are responsible for
the income , sales and expenses of their divisions.
 The company will be able to diversify and achieve various products. They
can
 The top level management can delegate a division executive authority over
various functions
 It will help improve and balance the coordination of the functional
activities.
 Encourages versatility, effort and faster decision-making, as each division is
an autonomous entity.
 Promote growth and expansion as the new divisions can be added without
disturbing current processes.

Q3)

1. The first technique would be that interviewers should be trained so that they
know what to ask. For example, in interviewing people for the position of a
qualified chef the interviewer should and try and get his background
checked. Analyze his past work history, go through his resume well etc.

2. Next technique would be to ask the right questions. The interviewer should
keep a set of questions fixed to be asked. They could be structured or un-
structured questions. in order to get a proper view of the candidates talents,
skill and qualifications he should design his questions accordingly.
Examples of these would be: Did you attend culinary school? If not, how did
you receive training, How many years of experience do you have working in
restaurants, Give an example of how you handled a stressful situation at
work in the past etc.

3. A third technique would be to improve selection by conducting multiple

interviews utilizing different interviewers. As a result, many people will
compare their assessments and opinions. not all interviewers can choose
and select a candidate; They have to provide the information to their
managers so they can make the final decision. Since having different
interviews the candidate can gain confidence. One of the ways to test their
skills would be by having a practical test. This can help the interviewers
judge whether the candidate is capable of being the chef for their restaurant.

4. Another technique would be that the interview checks the results of all the
tests and data collected from the sources referred to as references. Reference
checks and letters of recommendation may be necessary to verify the
information given by the applicant. For this position the interviewer should
go through the candidates references and check with them how they have fed
while working or training in their organisation. Sometimes candidates tend
to lie or attach false certificates etc. for example a fake certificate of the
culinary training they attended etc. so it is very important for the
interviewer to make sure he does a proper reference check.

Q4)
a. Democratic chief/Leader
As the leader for a project. I was a democratic leader. A democratic
leader usually contacts with the other members before taking action or
making decisions and always encourages their involvement. A
democratic leader can be either who makes no decision without
their other members or one who takes decisions but consults with
others before implementing them.

b. In democratic leadership, everyone is allowed to express their own

ideas and those with relatively less creative skills are also taken into
consideration without making them feel left out. If you consider and
focus only on one members ideas and thoughts the other group
member may feel worthless and stop contributing after some point.

c. Yes, according to me leadership styles are related to motivation. The

style of democratic leadership is one of the most influential. It makes
employees feel valued, provides a sense of responsibility over their
position, and increases the productivity. This can result in high levels
of success making work a happy place for everyone.
