 ABOUT ME

My name is Vanessa Belo. I live in Caldas da

Rainha, Portugal. I have motivation for every-
thing that is related to arts.
I´m interested in new projects and I especial-
ly like to make illustration.I took a multimedia
technical course (average of 17,6 values), by the
Megaexpansão entity, where I had three curric-
ular internships, that allowed to deepen more
solidly my taste and knowledge in the illustra-
tion, as well as develop my skills in photogra-
phy and video. I am currently in the second year
of ESAD.CR - Politécnico de Leiria.

O meu nome é Vanessa Sntos e vivo nas caldas

da Rainha, Portugal. Tenho uma motivação
em tudo que seja relacionado com arte.
Tenho interesse em novos projectos e gosto
particularmente de ilutração. Tirei um Curso
de Técnico de multimédia (média de 17,6 va-
lores), pela entidade Megaexpansão, onde
tive três estágios curriculares, que permitiu
aprofundar de modo mais sólido o meu gos-
to e conhecimento na área da ilustração, bem
como desenvolver as minhas capacidades em
fotografia e vídeo. Neste momento estou no
segundo ano da ESAD.CR - Politécnico de Lei-
ria.
 Children’s book

For my PAP I decided to write a book which

makes reading fun for children. The book gave
me great pleasure to write and illustrate even
though many difficulties were encountered
during the process. Finishing “The girl who does
not like reading” is a personal achievment. It
gave me great pleasure and satisfaction.

Para o meu PAP, decidi escrever um livro que

torna a leitura divertida para as crianças. O liv-
ro deu-me grande prazer em escrever e ilus-
trar, apesar de muitas dificuldades terem sido
encontradas durante o processo. Acabar “A
menina que não gosta de ler” é uma realização
pessoal. Deu-me um grande prazer e satis-
fação.
Design Communication Project I

Design Communication Project I it was pro-

posed a record work and collage with image
and letters then digitized and made a photo-
montage in the photoshop. This work was done
in the first year of the second semester in A4
format.

Trabalho realizado para a cadeira de Projecto

de Design Comunicação. Foi proposto um tra-
balho de recorde e colagem com imagem e
letras depois digitalizávamos e fazia uma fo-
tomontagem no photoshop. Este trabalho foi
feito no primeiro ano do segundo semestre em
formato A4.
Introduction to Project Thinking
university projects

As part of the Introduction to Project Thinking

discipline, it was proposed a work on semiot-
ics, in which we address the fact that people
use social networks a lot. We use a Portuguese
expression “talk to the dummy” which means
that you talk but nobody answers. We made a
mindmap as a poster of the event, where peo-
ple would talk to the physical doll.

No âmbito da disciplina Introdução ao Pens-

amento de Projecto, f​oi proposto um trabalho
sobre semiótica, onde abordamos o facto das
pessoas utilizarem muito as redes sociais. Uti-
lizamos uma expressão portuguesa “ falar para
o boneco” que significa que falas mas ninguém
responde. Realizamos um mindmap como um
cartaz do evento, onde consistia as pessoas
irem falar para o boneco físico.

It was proposed the elaboration of a book

in the graphic sense as an editorial, it con-
stitutes an investigation and research of
two books to develop the technique of grids,
types of margins, alignments and types of
letters in vegetable leaf. Based on our study,
we elaborated a typographical layout of the
core, giving a more modern graphic line. The
graphic structure as all the planning of the
book was done in Adobe InDesign software.

Foi proposta a elaboração de um livro no sen-

tido gráfico como editorial, constitui uma in-
vestigação e pesquisa de dois livros para
desenvolver técnica de grelhas, tipos de mar-
gens, alinhamentos e tipos de letras em fo-
lha vegetal. Com base do nosso estudo, ela-
boramos um layout tipográfico do miolo,
dando uma linha gráfica mais moderna. A es-
trutura gráfica como toda a planificação do li-
vro foi realizado no software Adobe InDesign.

“The Fuzzy” is a character, based on the carni-

val mask Caretos of the village of Podence. The
character was first hand-made with graph-
ite on paper, to have the natural movements,
giving more expression to the fur on the shirt.
After several sketches to reach the expect-
ed precision, the drawing was digitalized and
transferred to Adobe Illustrator. The entire com-
position is a tribute to the caretos of Portugal.

“O Felpudo” é uma personagem, baseada na

máscara de Carnaval da aldeia de Podence. A
personagem primeiramente realizada à mão
com grafite sobre papel, para ter os movimen-
tos naturais, dando mais expressão aos pelos
da camisola. Após vários esboços para chegar
à precisão esperada, o desenho foi digitalizado
e transferido para o programa Adobe Illustra-
tor. Toda a composição é uma homenagem aos
caretos de Portugal.

A graphic magazine was proposed, evocative to

the designer of the year. The portrait was made
in studio, where the model is Duarte Ramalho,
it was used honey and multicolored bowls lat-
er edited in Adobe Photoshop. Magazine size 40
cm x 26.6 cm (3:2).

Foi proposta a elaboração uma revista gráfica,

evocativa ao designer do ano. O retrato foi rea-
lizado em estúdio, onde o modelo é Duarte Ra-
malho foi utilizado mel e bolitas multicolores
posteriormente editado do Adobe Photoshop.
Dimensão da revista 40 cm x 26,6 cm (3:2).

In the discipline Graphic Design Project I, a work

was proposed in the adobe Indesign, respect-
ing the grids. The theme was free but we had
to choose something uninteresting and make it
interesting. The theme of the project was holes
in the wall because each hole has a different
shape and texture.

Na disciplina Projeto de Design Gráfico I, foi

proposto um trabalho no adobe Indesign, res-
peitando as grelhas. O tema era livre mas tín-
hamos que escolher algo desinteressante e
tornar interessante. A temática do projecto foi
buracos na parede porque cada buraco tem
uma forma e textura diferente.

 Printing Media I

In the Printing Media I, a printing technique was

proposed, relief engraving that allows the mul-
tiplication of the image through a linoleum ma-
trix. An illustration of the Público newspaper
was proposed.

Na disciplina Meios de Impressão I, foi proposto

uma técnica de impressão, gravura em relevo
que permite a multiplicação da imagem através
de uma matriz de linóleo. Posteriormente elab-
orar uma ilustração do jornal Público.
