Proposal to improve health centers in Los

Olivos

By: , Fiorella Alicia Dextre Reyna.

Health in Peru presents problems that, as the years go by and the population increases, become more visible. The health

system in Peru has exposed serious structural problems due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This would cause the public health

system to fail to meet the needs of Peruvians. Although Peru's health care system is not the best in the United States, more

potential problems complicate the situation. The purpose of this proposal is to emphasize that before, after and especially

during the pandemic, health centers in Los Olivos have the following characteristics: there are not enough health centers,

which causes overcrowding, some medications are not available, lack of equipment and maintenance of existing equipment,

poor organization to comply with preventive measures, and in some cases, low-income people are discriminated against

What I propose as a representative of Los Olivos is that in the future, both in Peru and in my district, better trained and

better managed health centers should be created. Likewise, the strengthening of the primary system from the regional

governments is of vital importance for an effective decentralization.

Because it is of utmost importance and relevance for all Peruvians, public health in Peru must identify the main health

problems that threaten the safety of the inhabitants and solve them. The new health system in Los Olivos and its long-term

implementation in Peru would have the application of:

Avoid discrimination with the standardization of universal care and promote this.

A system of care always active and prepared for any emergency that may occur.

Having an open concept infrastructure for better patient care and a more modern design.

Improving the administration of health centers, such as customer care.

Accommodate the centers with patient records digitally and work hand in hand with technology.

The benefits would be:

More healthy and happy people, so crowding will decrease.

Unlimited access to patient records within the country.

Better and beneficial coordination between branches of the system.

Improved treatment resources.

Providing quality healthcare in an equitable manner.

A wide variety of healthcare treatment options

The main challenges for public health in Peru and Los Olivos in the coming years are as follows:

The cost of being able to access population records can generate conflicts or inconvenience for both the people in my

community and the government, as taxes may increase.

Funding and investment are considerably high, due to the large structural change in healthcare facilities and the

increase in technology.

Older institutions are very resistant to change, so refrain.

In conclusion, it is important that health centers have an excellent capacity to care for people, not only from the technical

and medical point of view, but also with good infrastructure and good staff, also health centers must be able to provide all

the care required by the demand of the population. Therefore, health systems have to change to improve the care of this

right, taking into account that the systems of other countries are better than those of the country, in order to improve. The

change is necessary as soon as possible to avoid damage to the health of any inhabitant.
