PART II:

 INDUCTIVE REASONING - this tile from the truck is black. That tile from the
truck is black. A third tile from the truck is black. Therefore all the tiles in the truck
are black.

 DEDUCTIVE REASONING – New Year is always Jan. 1st; today is Jan. 1st,
therefore it’s New Year.

 Four Steps of Problem Solving by George Polya

 Step 1: Understand the problem.

 Step 2: Devise a plan (translate).
 Step 3: Carry out the plan (solve).
 Step 4: Look back (check and interpret)

As the head of the family, there are many things that come our way, and it’s very
hard to make a decision right away. The responsibilities on our shoulders are heavy.
In every situation, we need to plan first.
As a father, one of the problems we face is how to discipline my son. There are
ways to treat children, especially when they did something wrong.

When my son did something wrong, I have to asked him, what? Why? ,and,
how? I have to state the problem clearly as possible. Next, I have to think of
strategies or methods on how he will realize that he is wrong. I need to generate
possible solutions. Example: I can talk to him, spank him, grounded him for a day or
give him consequences. Then, I will use the most appropriate method I can think of.
Only for him to realize that he is wrong and for him not to do it again.
Lastly, evaluate the outcome. Did I get the outcome that I want? Does the
method I use works?
