Music Lesson Plan
Title: Teddy Bear, Ten in the Bed Grade Level: 3rd Grade
Source: Professor Nora Hunter

Materials needed:
2 Teddy Bears

Procedure:
A.S:
1. First, you’re going to greet the students (hey good morning class! Let’s get up and stand
super tall)
2. Teacher tells students to stretch their hands open to give their classmates space. If your
hands are touching someone else that means you are to close and you need to give your
classmate some more space.
3. Teacher says: Remember to stay in your own personal bubble.
4. Teacher say: Now you are going to do what I do. No talking just copy me.
5. Teacher say: Do you guys know what you guys are doing to do?
6. Students' response: Yes!!!!
7. Teacher says: yes!! Then let’s get started class.
8. Students are following every step the teacher is doing. Both the teacher and the student
are all quite just following the step that the teacher is doing.
9. We will be doing this twice to see if the students are listening and to following the
instructions.
Teacher and Student Movement Only
• Teacher Doing: crosses hands and swings and back and forth twice.
• Teacher Doing: then turns around once
• Teacher Doing: crosses hat and swings back-and-forth once.
• Teacher Doing: then touches the ground.
• Teacher Doing: then crosses hands and swings back-and-forth twice.
• Teacher Doing: reaches towards her shoes and pretends to tie her shoe.
• Teacher Doing: then crosses hands and swings back and forth twice.
• Teacher Doing: with one finger gestures no.

Repeat all the same step but this time the teacher will be singing the lyrics.
1. Teacher says: Class now we are going do it again, but I will be singing. Remember class
only I will be singing, and you guys will be just doings the movements
2. Teacher says: Class do you know what we are going to do?
3. Students respond: Yes!!!
4. Teacher says: Alrighty then class let’s get started again.

1. Teacher then gives two bears to two students (Pick two students the once did all the
moves and listen)
2. Teacher says: Student’s name ***** I love how you did all the moves, and you were just
listening. Would you like a turn? Hand them a bear (Repeat)
3. Teacher says: Remember class just listen and I will say the words.
4. Finish the song.
5. Then we do the whole movement and song again.
6. Teacher say: Student's name ***** did he go to sleep? Nooooo
7. Teacher says: Can I take and give to someone else? (Take bear)
8. Teacher: give to another two students and repeat again.

5. Student responds: sing and dance.
6. Teacher says: alrighty let’s get started class.

take turns. Remember movements and sing together as a whole class. Build relationships to have
a welcoming environment.
