Notes:

Whole note- a musical note equal in time value to four quarter notes or two
half notes.

Half note- a musical note with the time value of 1\2 of a whole note.

Quarter note- note played for one quarter of the duration of a whole note.

Eight note- musical note played for one eight the duration of a whole note.

1\6th note- note played for half the duration of an eight note.

Rest:

Whole rest- a pause or interval of silence in duration two half rests.

Half rest- corresponding in time value to half note.

Quarter rest- a musical rest corresponding in time value to a quarter note.

Eight rest- equals the duration of an eight note.

1\16th rest- it is a rest that 1\4 of a beat and 1\16 of a measure.
