Discovery 19: Use Cisco Unified Reporting


In this discovery, you will use reports in Cisco Unified Reporting to gather data
on Cisco Unified Communications Manager.

The figure shows the steps that you will perform in this discovery.

Discovery Task 1: View a Summary of the Cisco Unified Communications


Manager Configuration

In this discovery, you will use reports in Cisco Unified Reporting to document
some of the configuration elements that are in the Cisco Unified
Communications Manager configuration database.
Perform the following steps to use reports in Cisco Unified Reporting to gather
the information to complete the following table:

Parameter Value
Route Pattern  
Hunt List  
Voice Messaging Pilot  
Phone Services  
Remote Destination Profile  
Cisco Unified CSF Device Count 
SIP Trunk Count  

Using a web browser, navigate to https://10.1.1.100/cucreports to open Cisco


Unified Reporting.

Navigate to System Reports > Unified CM Data Summary and click the Generate a


New Report icon.

From the Call Routing Summary section, note the values for Route Patterns and Hunt
Lists and record them in the table.
In the Voice Mail Summary section, note the value for Voice Messaging Pilot and
record it in the table.

In the Device Summary section, note the counts for Phone Services and Remote
Destination Profile and record them in the table.

Navigate to System Reports > Unified Device Counts Summary and create a new
report.

Note the values for the Cisco Unified CSF and SIP Trunk devices and record them in
the table.

Discovery Task 2: Analyze Cisco Extension Mobility

Use Cisco Unified Reporting to obtain the Extension Mobility status of logged-in
and logged-out end users.

Perform the following steps to use Cisco Unified Reporting to obtain the status
of logged-in and logged-out end users and complete the following table:

From Cisco Unified Reporting, navigate to System Reports > Unified CM Extension
Mobility. Click the Generate a New Report icon.

From the Extension Mobility Summary section, note the EM Profile and Phones with
EM Enabled values and record them in the table.

The Extension Mobility Logged in Detail section displays the end users that are
currently logged in. No end users should be logged in. Verify that the table in the
report shows no values.

Student 1 use HQ Phone 1 and awhite. Student 2 use HQ Phone 2 and bbruford. Log
in using the device profile of the end user.

In the Cisco Unified Reporting web pages, click the Generate a New Report icon in
the upper-right corner to refresh the previously generated report.

The Extension Mobility Logged in Detail section should now display the logged-in
user John Doe. Log out John Doe.

Navigate to System Reports > Unified CM Shared Lines and generate a new report.

Record the count of instances for directory number 11003 for Student 1, Student 2
use 11004.

Discovery Task 3: Search Phone Features

Use Cisco Unified Reporting to generate a report that shows which phones
support a specific feature.
Follow these steps to use Cisco Unified Reporting to generate a report that
shows the call limit for Cisco Unified CSF and all Cisco Unified IP phones that
support the Cisco Phone VPN feature.

Navigate to System Reports > Unified CM Phone Feature List and then create a new
report.

From the Product drop down list, choose Cisco Unified Client Services Framework,
and from the Feature drop down list, choose Max Call Limit.

Click Submit to generate the feature list. The results should display the maximum call
limit for Cisco Unified CSF devices.

From the List Features section, note the value for Cisco Unified CSF devices.

Set the Product drop down list to All to search for a specific feature for all products.

In the Feature drop down list, choose the Virtual Private Network Client feature and
click Submit.

The List Feature section shows all products that support the Virtual Private Network
Client feature.
