1. WIND CATCHER AS A SUSTAINABLE
SOLUTION FOR PASSIVE COOLING

Absract-Currently, building energy consumption has become an international issue especially in

developing countries. In hot arid climate,60% of total building energy consumptionin this area is
associated with cooling systems. Wind as an important renewable energy can play a prominentrole to
supply natural ventilation inside the building and windcatcher as a traditional technique can be
implemented for this purpose. In this paper the different types of windcatchers, its performance and
functionwas reviewed. It can be concluded in most area this technique can be successfully be employed
and helps to reduce fossil energy consumption and related CO2 emission problems.

2. WATER TREATMENT
METHODOLOGIES
Abstract- The problem of fresh water deficiency is of worldwide impact. The increased population in
addition to various human activities has led to a drastic and continuous shortage of freshwater
resources. This dilemma led to motivate the scientists to find radical and cheap solutions. One of the
solutions proposed to solve this problem is to treat industrial wastewater to be suitable for agriculture
by removing toxic pollutants from it. This review sheds light on the traditional and modern methods
applied for this purpose with a focus on the use of natural materials as sustainable and environmentally
friendly sources for creating new materials used in this regard. Furthermore, the review concentrates
on the utilization of polymer nanocomposites (specially derived from or based on natural polymer) in
water treatment as a relatively modest trend.

3.IMPACT OF VEHICULAR POLLUTION ON

ENVIRONMENT
Abstract- The rapid development in urban India has resulted in a tremendous increase in the number
of motor vehicles. In some cities, this has doubled in the last decade. Rapid urbanization and growth
of motor vehicles impose a serious effect on human life and the environment in recent years. Motor
vehicles are a significant source of urban air pollution and are increasingly important contributors of
anthropogenic carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. Transport sector contributes a major
sector, contributing 90% of total emissions. Air pollution is a serious environmental health threat to
humans. Adverse effects range from nausea, difficulty in breathing and skin irritations, birth defects,
immunosuppression and cancer. All these situations indicate that air pollution becoming a major
problem in Indian context and there is an essential need to build up healthy environment and increase
the level of research around the world.
