 Daniel:  The  70  Weeks  of  Daniel  

The  Bridge  of  All  Prophecy  From  Old  
Testament  to  New  -­‐  The  Sabbatical  Years

The  book  of  Daniel  is  tied  to  Revelation.  Daniel  carries  with  it  a  prominent  factor  
concerning  prophecies.  In  four  verses  of  Daniel,  it  has  the  very  bridge  and  key  to  
all  prophecy  in  the  bible.  

Daniel  9:24  -­‐  27  

Daniel  9:24-­‐27  KJV  Seventy  weeks  are  determined  upon  thy  people  and  upon  thy  
holy  city,  to  finish  the  transgression,  and  to  make  an  end  of  sins,  and  to  make  
reconciliation  for  iniquity,  and  to  bring  in  everlasting  righteousness,  and  to  seal  
up  the  vision  and  prophecy,  and  to  anoint  the  most  Holy.  (25)  Know  therefore  
and  understand,  that  from  the  going  forth  of  the  commandment  to  restore  and  to  
build  Jerusalem  unto  the  Messiah  the  Prince  shall  be  seven  weeks,  and  
threescore  and  two  weeks:  the  street  shall  be  built  again,  and  the  wall,  even  in  
troublous  times.  (26)  And  after  threescore  and  two  weeks  shall  Messiah  be  cut  
off,  but  not  for  himself:  and  the  people  of  the  prince  that  shall  come  shall  destroy  
the  city  and  the  sanctuary;  and  the  end  thereof  shall  be  with  a  flood,  and  unto  the  
end  of  the  war  desolations  are  determined.  (27)  And  he  shall  confirm  the  
covenant  with  many  for  one  week:  and  in  the  midst  of  the  week  he  shall  cause  
the  sacrifice  and  the  oblation  to  cease,  and  for  the  overspreading  of  
abominations  he  shall  make  it  desolate,  even  until  the  consummation,  and  that  
determined  shall  be  poured  upon  the  desolate.  
These  are  the  four  verse  that  bridges  all  prophecies  in  the  scriptures.  It  ties  Israel  
as  a  nation  from  I  Samuel  -­‐  2  Chronicles  and  all  N.T.  prophecy.  These  four  verses  
are  the  70  weeks  of  Daniel.

Daniel  11  (Abomination  of  Desolation)  This  is  repeated  in  the  gospels  above.  

Revelation  11  &  12  

Revelation  11  &  12  in  the  midst  of  the  70  weeks,  the  sacrifice  and  oblation  is  
going  to  be  caused  to  
cease.  
A  sacrifice  is  the  cup  and  the  church  is  the  bread.  This  will  cease  in  the  middle  of  
the  70  weeks.  

Colossians  2:14;  the  rituals  were  blotted  out  when  Jesus  was  nailed  to  the  cross.  

Colossians  2:14  KJV  Blotting  out  the  handwriting  of  ordinances  that  was  against  
us,  which  was  contrary  to  us,  and  took  it  out  of  the  way,  nailing  it  to  his  cross;  
bdelugma  -­‐  to  stink;  building  a  literal  temple  will  stink  to  God.  Jesus  is  the  one  
sacrifice,  offered  once  for  all,  he  is  the  sacrifice,  so  then  therefore  the  temple  in  
Jerusalem  today  will  not  honor  God,  that  will  stink  in  his  eyes.  
There  cannot  be  a  literal  temple  without  Levites,  it  is  impossible.

Jesus  is  the  one  sacrifice  in  Hebrew  10,  he  was  offered  once  for  all.  
Revelation  11  &  12  
There  are  several  terms  for  the  midway  point.  
Time  Times  and  Half  a  Times  (Rev  12)  
The  woman  is  a  picture  of  Israel  or  the  church  fleeing  the  wrath  of  the  serpent  ,  
and  the  baby  is  Christ  ascended  up  to  the  father.  
Revelation  12:13-­‐14  KJV  (13)  And  when  the  dragon  saw  that  he  was  cast  unto  
the  earth  (Gen  1:1-­‐2),  he  persecuted  the  woman  which  brought  forth  the  man  
child.  (14)  And  to  the  woman  were  given  two  wings  of  a  great  eagle,  that  she  
might  fly  into  the  wilderness,  into  her  place,  where  she  is  nourished  for  a  time,  
and  times,  and  half  a  time,  from  the  face  of  the  serpent.  
Daniel  7:24  KJV  And  the  ten  horns  out  of  this  kingdom  are  ten  kings  that  shall  
arise:  and  another  shall  rise  after  them;  and  he  shall  be  diverse  from  the  first,  
and  he  shall  subdue  three  kings  (Babylon  ,  Persia,  Greece).  
Daniel  7:25  KJV  And  he  (it)  shall  speak  great  words  against  the  most  High,  and  
shall  wear  out  the  saints  of  the  most  High,  and  think  to  change  times  and  laws:  
and  they  shall  be  given  into  his  hand  until  a  time  and  times  and  the  dividing  of  
time.  

1/2  of  70  weeks  is  70  x  7  (shabuah  -­‐  70  sevens,  the  number  of  divine  
repentance).  The  70  weeks  (Daniel  9  points  to  this).  
Revelation  11:1  KJV  And  there  was  given  me  a  reed  (kalamos  -­‐  kanon)  like  unto  a  
rod:  and  the  angel  stood,  saying,  Rise,  and  measure  the  temple  of  God  (the  elect  ),  
and  the  altar,  and  them  that  worship  therein.  
Zechariah  2:1  KJV  I  lifted  up  mine  eyes  again,  and  looked,  and  behold  a  man  with  
a  measuring  line  in  his  hand.  
Zechariah  2:2  KJV  Then  said  I,  Whither  goest  thou?  And  he  said  unto  me,  To  
measure  Jerusalem,  to  see  what  is  the  breadth  thereof,  and  what  is  the  length  
thereof.  

What  is  Jerusalem  now?  Jerusalem  is  the  church  of  the  first  born  (Hebrew  12:22  -­‐  
Heavenly  Jerusalem  ).  
The  Elect,  the  church.  
Revelation  11:2  KJV  But  the  court  which  is  without  the  temple  leave  out,  and  
measure  it  not;  for  it  is  given  unto  the  Gentiles  (to  the  unbelievers  are  left  out  of  
the  temple  of  God):  and  the  holy  city  (the  church)  shall  they  tread  under  foot  
forty  and  two  months.  (min.  30)    
Revelation  11:8  KJV  And  their  dead  bodies  (the  two  witnesses,  the  priest  and  the  
king)  shall  lie  in  the  street  of  the  great  city,  which  spiritually  is  called  Sodom  and  
Egypt,  where  also  our  Lord  was  crucified.  
Literal  Jerusalem  is  called  Sodom  and  Egypt  in  verse  8.  They  are  not  the  holy  city,  
the  church  is  the  holy  city.  

42  months  is  exactly  1/2  of  7  years  or  3  1/2  years  on  a  360  day  year  of  the  
Jewish  calendar.  This  is  equal  to  a  time,  times  and  half  a  time.  

Revelation  11:3  KJV  And  I  will  give  power  unto  my  two  witnesses  (Jewish  law.  It  
always  takes  two  witnesses  to  establish  anything.  A  man  cannot  be  put  to  death  
without  two  witnesses  in  Jewish  law),  and  they  shall  prophesy  a  thousand  two  
hundred  and  threescore  days,  clothed  in  sackcloth.  

1260  days  is  exactly  half  of  a  7  year  period  of  a  260  day  Jewish  calendar.  
Revelation  11:9  KJV  And  they  of  the  people  and  kindreds  and  tongues  and  
nations  shall  see  their  dead  bodies  three  days  and  an  half  (3  1/2  years  the  
church  will  be  slaughtered  ),  and  shall  not  suffer  their  dead  bodies  to  be  put  in  
graves.  
Daniel  7  /  8  Vision  of  Babylon  ,  Persia  ,  Greece  and  the  Beast  (Rev  13,  17).  The  
beast  is  a  world  ruling  
system  and  has  to  do  with  the  70  weeks.  
Daniel  9:1  KJV  In  the  first  year  of  Darius  the  son  of  Ahasuerus,  of  the  seed  of  the  
Medes,  which  was  made  king  over  the  realm  of  the  Chaldeans;  
Daniel  9:2  KJV  In  the  first  year  of  his  reign  I  Daniel  understood  by  books  the  
number  of  the  years,  whereof  the  word  of  the  LORD  came  to  Jeremiah  the  
prophet,  that  he  (God)  would  accomplish  seventy  years  in  the  desolations  of  
Jerusalem.  
There  will  be  70  years  that  God  will  make  Jerusalem  desolate.  This  is  the  70  
years  of  Daniels  70  x  7.  The  reason  for  this  is  that  Israel  went  after  paganism.  
God  scattered  Northern  Israel  in  722  B.C.  and  Southern  Judah  in  586  BC.  
Jerusalem  is  in  Southern  Judah.  The  70  weeks  is  given  not  to  Northern  Israel,  but  
to  Judah;  the  Persian  kings.  Persia  overthrown  Babylon  in  539  BC.  The  Persian  
Mede  empire.  
539  B.C.  is  when  Cyrus  overthrow  Babylon  and  it  is  him  that  gives  the  first  
decree  (only  the  Persians  give  these  decrees,  and  there  were  4).  538  B.C.  Cyrus  
gives  decree  to  Israel  to  go  back  (  out  of  the  clear  blue  sky,  a  pagan  king,  who  
worships  Baal  gives  this  order)  and  rebuild  their  temple.  (min.  40)  

Darius  is  the  second  king  in  Biblical  history,  and  he  is  of  extreme  importance.  He  
starts  reigning  in  522  
BC.  While  he  is  reigning  there  are  two  prophets  preaching  to  the  people.  Haggai  
and  Zechariah.  
The  70  years  are  not  accomplished  yet,  the  rebuild  wasn't  until  516  BC.  
Zechariah  4:6  KJV  Then  he  answered  and  spake  unto  me,  saying,  This  is  the  word  
of  the  LORD  unto  Zerubbabel,  saying,  Not  by  might,  nor  by  power,  but  by  my  
spirit,  saith  the  LORD  of  hosts.  
It  will  be  God  that  touches  the  minds  of  the  Persians  kings  to  have  the  temple  
rebuilt.  This  is  about  Israel  coming  out  from  under  the  most  powerful  armies  
that  ever  existed.  
Haggai  and  Zechariah  had  one  purpose,  and  that  was  to  prophecy;  Haggai  started  
to  prophecy  in  520  and  stopped  3  months  later  and  Zechariah  started  and  
prophesied  for  three  years.  In  516  the  temple  was  finished.    

What  Nebuchadnezzar  destroyed,  a  pagan  king  gave  the  decree  to  rebuild  it.  This  
is  the  beginning  of  the  70  weeks.  
The  70  weeks  of  Daniel  is  the  key  to  all  prophecy.  It  was  about  all  the  time  Israel  
was  a  nation,  for  500  years,  from  the  first  king  Saul  to  the  last  kind  Zedekiah  for  
510  years,  they  went  after  ball  the  sun  god,  grove  the  tree  goddess  (the  tree  -­‐  
Christmas).  They  are  ignoring  his  statues,  his  laws  during  this  time  period.  They  
refuse  the  sabbatical  years,  and  destroyed  the  land.  
The  whole  purpose  of  the  70  weeks  of  Daniel  is  a  agriculture  thing  -­‐  a  food  thing.  
It  is  about  food.  
Leviticus  25:1-­‐2  KJV  And  the  LORD  spake  unto  Moses  in  mount  Sinai,  saying,  (2)  
Speak  unto  the  children  of  Israel,  and  say  unto  them,  When  ye  come  into  the  land  
which  I  give  you,  then  shall  the  land  keep  a  Sabbath  unto  the  LORD.  
Leviticus  25:3  KJV  Six  years  thou  shalt  sow  thy  field,  and  six  years  thou  shalt  
prune  thy  vineyard,  and  gather  in  the  fruit  thereof;  
Leviticus  25:4  KJV  But  in  the  seventh  year  shall  be  a  sabbath  of  rest  unto  the  
land,  a  sabbath  for  the  LORD:  thou  shalt  neither  sow  thy  field,  nor  prune  thy  
vineyard.  
Leviticus  25:5  KJV  That  which  groweth  of  its  own  accord  of  thy  harvest  thou  
shalt  not  reap,  neither  gather  the  grapes  of  thy  vine  undressed  (nazir  -­‐  to  
separate  or  consecrated  ):  for  it  is  a  year  of  rest  unto  the  land.  
Leviticus  25:6  KJV  And  the  sabbath  of  the  land  shall  be  meat  for  you;  for  thee,  
and  for  thy  servant,  and  for  thy  maid,  and  for  thy  hired  servant,  and  for  thy  
stranger  that  sojourneth  with  thee,  Leviticus  25:7  KJV,  And  for  thy  cattle,  and  for  
the  beast  that  are  in  thy  land,  shall  all  the  increase  thereof  be  meat.  

Leviticus  25:8  KJV  And  thou  shalt  number  seven  sabbaths  of  years  unto  thee,  
seven  times  seven  years;  and  the  space  of  the  seven  sabbaths  of  years  shall  be  
unto  thee  forty  and  nine  years.  
Leviticus  25:9  KJV  Then  shalt  thou  cause  the  trumpet  of  the  jubile  to  sound  on  
the  tenth  day  of  the  seventh  month,  in  the  day  of  atonement  shall  ye  make  the  
trumpet  sound  throughout  all  your  land.  

Leviticus  25:10  KJV  And  ye  shall  hallow  the  fiftieth  year,  and  proclaim  liberty  
throughout  all  the  land  unto  all  the  inhabitants  thereof:  it  shall  be  a  jubile  unto  
you;  and  ye  shall  return  every  man  unto  his  possession,  and  ye  shall  return  every  
man  unto  his  family.  
Leviticus  25:11  KJV  A  jubile  shall  that  fiftieth  year  be  unto  you:  ye  shall  not  sow,  
neither  reap  that  which  groweth  of  itself  in  it,  nor  gather  the  grapes  in  it  of  thy  
vine  undressed.  
Leviticus  25:12  KJV  For  it  is  the  jubile;  it  shall  be  holy  unto  you:  ye  shall  eat  the  
increase  thereof  out  of  the  field.  
Leviticus  25:13  KJV  In  the  year  of  this  jubile  ye  shall  return  every  man  unto  his  
possession.  
Leviticus  25:14  KJV  And  if  thou  sell  ought  unto  thy  neighbour,  or  buyest  ought  of  
thy  neighbour's  hand,  ye  shall  not  oppress  one  another:  
All  debts  cancelled  out,  return  everything;  Israel  refused  this  due  to  greed.  This  is  
a  picture  of  Christ  releasing  us  from  our  debts.  The  love  of  money  is  the  root  of  
evil.  
 
Daniel  9:2  KJV  In  the  first  year  of  his  reign  I  Daniel  understood  by  books  (ref  Jer.  
25  &  29)  the  number  of  the  years,  whereof  the  word  of  the  LORD  came  to  
Jeremiah  the  prophet,  that  he  would  accomplish  seventy  years  (586  B.C.  -­‐  516  
B.C.  70  years)  in  the  desolations  of  Jerusalem.  
Jeremiah  preached  for  40  years,  this  was  all  set  by  God.  Jeremiah  tells  them  do  
not  go  down  to  Egypt,  do  not  run  from  Nebuchadnezzar.  If  you  go  to  Egypt  God  
will  have  them  chased  down  and  slaughter  them  (not  by  might,  nor  by  power  -­‐  
the  sovereignty  of  God).  
Jeremiah  25:12  KJV  And  it  shall  come  to  pass,  when  seventy  years  are  
accomplished,  that  I  will  punish  the  king  of  Babylon,  and  that  nation,  saith  the  
LORD,  for  their  iniquity,  and  the  land  of  the  Chaldeans,  and  will  make  it  perpetual  
desolations.  
Jeremiah  25:13  KJV  And  I  will  bring  upon  that  land  all  my  words  which  I  have  
pronounced  against  it,  even  all  that  is  written  in  this  book,  which  Jeremiah  hath  
prophesied  against  all  the  nations.  
Jeremiah  29:1  KJV  Now  these  are  the  words  of  the  letter  that  Jeremiah  the  
prophet  sent  from  
Jerusalem  unto  the  residue  of  the  elders  which  were  carried  away  captives,  and  
to  the  priests,  and  to  the  prophets,  and  to  all  the  people  whom  Nebuchadnezzar  
had  carried  away  captive  from  
Jerusalem  to  Babylon;  
605  BC,  597  were  peaceful  deportation;  586  was  a  military  slaughter  of  
Jerusalem.  
Jeremiah  29:2  KJV  (After  that  Jeconiah  the  king,  and  the  queen,  and  the  eunuchs,  
the  princes  of  Judah  and  Jerusalem,  and  the  carpenters,  and  the  smiths,  were  
departed  from  Jerusalem;)  
Jeremiah  29:3  KJV  By  the  hand  of  Elasah  the  son  of  Shaphan,  and  Gemariah  the  
son  of  Hilkiah,  
(whom  Zedekiah  king  of  Judah  sent  unto  Babylon  to  Nebuchadnezzar  king  of  
Babylon)  saying,  
Jeremiah  29:4  KJV  Thus  saith  the  LORD  of  hosts,  the  God  of  Israel,  unto  all  that  
are  carried  away  captives,  whom  I  have  caused  to  be  carried  away  from  
Jerusalem  unto  Babylon;  
 
This  is  what  God  says  to  them;  Jeremiah  29:5  KJV  Build  ye  houses  (in  Babylon),  
and  dwell  in  them;  and  plant  gardens,  and  eat  the  fruit  of  them;  
Jeremiah  29:6  KJV  Take  ye  wives,  and  beget  sons  and  daughters  (you  will  be  
there  a  long  time  ,  at  least  70  years)  ;  and  take  wives  for  your  sons,  and  give  your  
daughters  to  husbands,  that  they  may  bear  sons  and  daughters;  that  ye  may  be  
increased  there,  and  not  diminished.  
Jeremiah  29:7  KJV  And  seek  the  peace  of  the  city  whither  I  have  caused  you  to  
be  carried  away  captives,  and  pray  unto  the  LORD  for  it:  for  in  the  peace  thereof  
shall  ye  have  peace  (if  they  have  peace,  you  will  have  peace).  
Jeremiah  29:8  KJV  For  thus  saith  the  LORD  of  hosts,  the  God  of  Israel;  Let  not  
your  prophets  and  your  diviners,  that  be  in  the  midst  of  you,  deceive  you,  neither  
hearken  to  your  dreams  which  ye  cause  to  be  dreamed  (don’t  believe  you  will  
not  go  to  Babylon,  for  you  are  going  to  go!)  
Jeremiah  29:9  KJV  For  they  prophesy  falsely  unto  you  in  my  name:  I  have  not  
sent  them,  saith  the  LORD.  
Jeremiah  29:10  KJV  For  thus  saith  the  LORD,  That  after  seventy  years  be  
accomplished  at  Babylon  I  will  visit  you,  and  perform  my  good  word  toward  you,  
in  causing  you  to  return  to  this  place.  
Jeremiah  29:11  KJV  For  I  know  the  thoughts  that  I  think  toward  you,  saith  the  
LORD,  thoughts  of  peace,  and  not  of  evil,  to  give  you  an  expected  end.  
Jeremiah  29:12  KJV  Then  shall  ye  call  upon  me,  and  ye  shall  go  and  pray  unto  me,  
and  I  will  hearken  unto  you.  
Jeremiah  29:13  KJV  And  ye  shall  seek  me,  and  find  me,  when  ye  shall  search  for  
me  with  all  your  heart.  
Jeremiah  29:14  KJV  And  I  will  be  found  of  you,  saith  the  LORD:  and  I  will  turn  
away  your  captivity,  and  I  will  gather  you  from  all  the  nations  (the  end  of  time  
because  only  50K  returned  after  the  decree  was  given,  not  all  returned),  and  
from  all  the  places  whither  I  have  driven  you,  saith  the  LORD;  and  I  will  bring  
you  again  into  the  place  whence  I  caused  you  to  be  carried  away  captive.  
Verifying  the  70  years  in  Babylon.  After  70  years  the  land,  lying  fallow,  will  once  
again  be  rich.  
 
2  Chronicles  36:15  KJV  And  the  LORD  God  of  their  fathers  sent  to  them  by  his  
messengers  (prophets),  rising  up  betimes,  and  sending;  because  he  had  
compassion  on  his  people,  and  on  his  dwelling  place  (the  holy  of  holies,  the  
house  of  God):  
 
2  Chronicles  36:16  KJV  But  they  mocked  the  messengers  of  God,  and  despised  his  
words,  and  misused  his  prophets,  until  the  wrath  of  the  LORD  arose  against  his  
people,  till  there  was  no  remedy  (marpe  -­‐  no  cure,  same  word  as  gr,  aporia  -­‐  a  
quandary  with  no  cure)  
 
God  brought  this  evil  upon  his  people.  God  did  this:  
 
2  Chronicles  36:17  KJV  Therefore  he  brought  upon  them  the  king  of  the  
Chaldees,  who  slew  their  young  men  with  the  sword  in  the  house  of  their  
sanctuary,  and  had  no  compassion  upon  young  man  or  maiden,  old  man,  or  him  
that  stooped  for  age:  he  gave  them  all  into  his  hand  (into  the  
hand  of  Nebuchadnezzar,  God  did  the  killing,  the  sovereignty  of  God).  
 
2  Chronicles  36:18  KJV  And  all  the  vessels  (ref.  Daniel  5)  of  the  house  of  God,  
great  and  small,  and  the  treasures  of  the  house  of  the  LORD,  and  the  treasures  of  
the  king,  and  of  his  princes;  all  these  he  brought  to  Babylon.  

2  Chronicles  36:19  KJV  And  they  burnt  the  house  of  God,  and  brake  down  the  
wall  of  Jerusalem,  and  burnt  all  the  palaces  thereof  with  fire,  and  destroyed  all  
the  goodly  vessels  thereof.  

2  Chronicles  36:20  KJV  And  them  that  had  escaped  from  the  sword  carried  he  
away  to  Babylon;  where  they  were  servants  to  him  and  his  sons  until  the  reign  of  
the  kingdom  of  Persia  (Cyrus  539  B.C.):  
The  reason?  

2  Chronicles  36:21  KJV  To  fulfil  the  word  of  the  LORD  by  the  mouth  of  Jeremiah,  
until  the  land  had  enjoyed  her  sabbaths:  for  as  long  as  she  lay  desolate  she  
kept  sabbath,  to  fulfill  threescore  and  ten  years  (70  years).  

2  Chronicles  36:22  KJV  Now  in  the  first  year  of  Cyrus  king  of  Persia,  that  
the  word  of  the  LORD  spoken  by  the  mouth  of  Jeremiah  might  be  
accomplished,  the  LORD  stirred  up  the  spirit  of  Cyrus  king  of  Persia,  that  he  
made  a  proclamation  throughout  all  his  kingdom,  and  put  it  also  in  writing,  
saying,  God  charged  him  to  do  it.  No  free  will,  the  sovereignty  of  God.  

2  Chronicles  36:23  KJV  Thus  saith  Cyrus  king  of  Persia,  All  the  kingdoms  of  the  
earth  hath  the  LORD  God  of  heaven  given  me;  and  he  hath  charged  me  to  build  
him  an  house  in  Jerusalem,  which  is  in  Judah.  Who  is  there  among  you  of  all  his  
people?  The  LORD  his  God  be  with  him,  and  let  him  go  up.  

Ezra  1  repeats  the  decrees.  The  first  three  decrees  are  in  the  book  of  Ezra.  Ezra  
and  Nehemiah  are  the  two  books  that  put  forth  the  four  decrees  that  lead  up  to  
the  70  weeks  of  Daniel  which  is  given  to  us  in  Nehemiah  the  second  chapter.    
The  70  weeks  is  a  time  period  that  God  is  giving  Israel  to  repent  of  all  that  Baal  
and  grove  worship  that  Christmas  worship,  and  John  the  Baptist  stood  on  the  
banks  of  the  
Jordon  river  crying  repent  for  the  kingdom  of  heaven  is  at  hand.  He  was  saying  
repent  of  your  sun  and  tree  worship  that  you  have  never  done  you  bunch  of  
Pharisees!  
Two  witnesses;  

Ezra  1:1  KJV  Now  in  the  first  year  of  Cyrus  king  of  Persia  (539  he  overthrew  
Babylon),  that  the  word  of  the  LORD  by  the  mouth  of  Jeremiah  (ref.  Jeremiah
