OECD Benchmark Definition of FDI:
Foreign direct investment reflects the
objective of obtaining a lasting interest by a
resident entity in one economy (‘‘direct
investor’’) in an entity resident in an
economy other than that of the investor
(‘‘direct investment enterprise’’)
