DOMINION: PREVAILING AGAINST THE ANTI-PROGRESS FORCES

Readings: Job 32:17-20; Rom. 8:19-20; Deut. 1:1-10
What is your new year vision? May this be your year of team building and progress. If you want
go fast, walk alone. If you want to go far, walk with others. TEAM = Together everyone
achieves more. This year you must make progress in life. We are expecting profit, results and
score card. Get into the new year with full speed. However little the progress, there has to be
some movement. A moving snail is more than a static elephant. There must be evidence of
advancing in career, business, team building, ministry, family, etc. wait upon God. Be patient.
When you are too much in a hurry, you will hurry out of your blessings. Don’t fight vain battles.
Don’t ever fight: God; men of God; Work of God and Yourself. In the beginning of the year, fill
a form and take stock of different areas of your life. Write in detail where you are. Understand
the circumstances and situation where you are. Know where you want to be at the end of the
year. Have your goal and plan of action. Later on when they are fulfilled you can testify: “I WAS
THERE BUT I BELIEVED GOD TO BE WHERE I AM NOW” it is time to brek camp and
advance (Deut 1:1-10), purpose and be determined to make progress. ADVANCE. YOU CANT
AFFORD TO REMAIN IN THE SAME POINT – stuck like gramophone record. God expect
you to be HAPPY, CONTENTED, PROSPEROUS AND GLORIOUS. What is your goal and
plan of action. For instance, reducing your debts by 75% , reducing weight by 10kg, buiding a
residential house or changing a job. Have a SMART

THE POWER OF YOUR MIND:

HOW TO DEVELOP YOUR MIND
(Romans 12:1-2) without renewal of the mind, there is conformity to the world. Without the
word of God, your mind cannot be renewed.
WHY THE MIND?
1. The spirit man connects you to God; it is the mind that connects you to the world. Ever
been asked: “Have you lost your mind?” Mad men are people who have lost the mind but
the spirit man is still inside.
2. If you have lost your mind, you have lost your worth. You become worthless. Satan
would want to try you in the mind if he cant attack your spirit man. Your mind is the
battle field in every conflict of your life (proverbs 23:7)”As a man thinketh, so is he” why
do employers recruit fresh graduates? Their minds are not yet developed and become
fixated. They are malleable. You cant teach an old dog new tricks
3. Keep on learning. There is nothing you know that you don’t learn. Keep on studying the
word of God. Watch yourself. What are you feeding your mind with? Are you always
watching

HOW TO RECOVER ALL WHEN YOU HAVE NOT

1Samuel 30: 1 – 31
David is a man after God’s heart. He is also a warrior and a bloody man. He had
an obsession and passion to build a magnificient temple for God. However, God
could not allow him because of his bloody past. Remember, there are seasons we
may desire to do certain things for God even though it could not be God’s season
or timing! Being in God’s season brings joy in service, equally being in God’s
station brings fruitfulness in service.
Do you desire peace and rest for your battles? The solution is to conquer every
enemy in your sphere if you want to rest. The enemy has no respect for position,
merit, qualification, education background or race. When the enemy sees that you
are vulnerable, he will double his effort. The enemy is totally out to derail from
fulfilling your purpose and God given assignment. Keep dreaming big. Don’t
dread to confront the enemy and engage in warfare. In order to come to the front
you must confront. Deal firmly with any emergency the enemy may come up with
on your pathways to sidetrack you. Carry the banner “God and I are in the
majority” in God you are powerful and formidable. There is heavy arsenal in your
hand, don’t throw it down, aim at the enemy (weapon of mass destruction). The
Lord is God of war (Lord of Hosts)(Ps. 68:1, 24:9) Lift up your heads , O you the
ancient doors/gates and let the king of glory come in. You are in a great company
and you are not the underdog. Don’t feel perpetually threatened. Don’t fear to live
out your dream. Engage the word of God: It is a sword. Loaded weapon. You are
a tool in the hands of God (Jer 52.
David and his army comes back to the camp and finds wives, children and property
gone. They wept until there was no more strength. Have you ever felt
exhausted and totally warn out and overwhelmed? When you are part of the army
of God your enemies becomes God’s enemies. You carry your generation mantle.
There is generational transition. You are Joshua generation. There are times God
raises a generation to finish their enemies.
(Isaiah 9: 1- 6) God is raising you up. When he say it is a day of fighting, say
“Yes”. Are you in your darkest and lowest moment? You have dialed No. 5. It is
the number of God’s grace, favour and goodwill. God is releasing a promise and
prophetic Rhema word. This word will take you to the next level. Take the limits
off. Your limitation have limits but your potential is unlimited. God’s favour
gives you the advantage.

PURSUE. OVERTAKE. RECOVER

1 Sam. 30: 1 – 31
Encourage yourself in the Lord. To encourage is to give confidence. You have no
choice but to serve and honour God in spite of your condition or circumstances.

David made the choice, when there is no one to encourage you, encourage
yourself. There will be times you will need encouragement and non will be
forthcoming. Discouragement, hopelessness can lead to one to commit suicide.

Steps to take in order to pursue, overtake and recover.

1. David enquired of the word.
He went to his priest, began to realize and recognize the important role played by
your pastor or the set man of the house. David enquires of the Lord and God gives
a word “Pursue. Overtake. Recover” Make it a habit to always ask God about
yourself. Don’t take things for granted or think that you knew all things.

2. We must be thankful to God.

Psalm 100:4,5
Enter His gates with thanksgiving circumstances should not determine your
relationship or attitudes towards God. To enter a program, you need a
PASSWORD. Before the throne, the password is the thanksgiving. When you
think of a recovery, the first word is thanksgiving. In all situations, you can find
something to thank God for. Turn your focus from the negative situation and begin
to thank God. Thanksgiving gives you access to the throne of God.

3. LOVE GOD AND GIVE SACRIFICIALLY

Love God with your money. Let not money master you, let not your needs scream
so loud that you abandon giving. Can God trust you?

4. ENTER HIS GATES WITH PRAISE

Psa 100: 4 – 5
God is still a great God despite your experiences, challenges, setbacks and battles.
Focus on the goodness of God despite the bad things around you. Thank God for
the goodness and praise his greatness. (1Sa 60:18; Ps 106: 47) Triumph results
when we praise God. (2 Cor 2:14) Taste the knowledge of God’s greatness. God
will cause you to triumph. Triumph is a word used in the time of war. There is
always procession of triumph as the subjects praise the kings.
The moment you praise, then triumph is manifested, when you praise, you enforce
the victory. (2Chron. 20:1-30)
Rise above the ash-heap. You have the strength of the Lord.

OCCUPY TILL I COME!!

Luke 19: 11 – 27

Towards the end of his life, Jesus began to prepare his disciples for his death and
resurrection because they had a misconception of what was to take place in their
Lord’s life. They did not understand what was required of them. The Lord took this
opportunity to tell a parable which would be instructive to his immediate disciples
as well as for those of us living at the beginning of the third millennium (current
generation). At this point and time there are physical and spiritual needs. There is
extreme poverty. Poverty is characterized by hunger, thirst, nakedness and
wants of all things. Jesus healed the sick and fed the hungry. This theme / topic
comes right on time. It is a challenge to shift from waiting to action, from vision to
action. Passiveness and disengagements are not God’s norm. Christ issued a battle
cry to the church. “OCCUPY UNTIL I COME!” Notice the active role of Christ in
the parable. “Christ, the nobleman” is going “to a distant country to receive a
kingdom to himself, and then return. Notice the active role of the disciples,
pictured as slaves in the parable. “And he called ten of his slaves, and gave them
ten minas and said to them. “Do business with this till I come back”
The ten minas represented the measure of capital that Christ invests in each
believer’s life. In addition to one’s natural talents, abilities, interests and
temperaments, Christ endows believers with his spirit, spiritual gifts and “Every
spiritual blessings in the heavenly places” Eph. 1:3 these are not given to be
squandered, hoarded, or used for our boasting and pride. They are given as
resources to be invested and weapons to be used.

DEFINITION
Christ issued a command. In Greek the command is “progmateumac” it means
“trade”, “Do business”, or “Occupy”. In the English word “pragmatic” is derived
from this Greek word. Christ’s call is for believers to be creative, practical,
industrious, energetic, active, and diligent with the “capital” he has given. Occupy
also means to live in. To live in means to be in possession of something. You are
getting into your season of possession. Occupy also means to take up or fill up an
amount of space or time. It is high time you fill up the available vacancies. There
is no time to idling. Occupy also means hold a position. You an authority in
authority. Don’t play outside of your position or number. Don’t fret, fumble or
stumble. Hold your position. You are heaven’s best for that position.
Occupy means fill up the mind. Be too pre -occupied with an idea. Let your mind
be occupied with kingdom stuff. Occupy also means to capture. To capture is to
invade and keep possession of the lesson. It is high time you occupied the territory
of the enemy. It is high time you challenged the kingdom of the enemy. The gates
of hell shall not prevail against the church of Jesus Christ. (Matt. 16:16 – 19)
Prophetically declare; “ I am here for such a time like this” there are things that
belong to God that the devil has stolen.

KJV translates “progmateuomatic” as “occupy” which with its military overtones,

accurately places it in the midst of cosmic (historic/spiritual) conflict against the
devil and his demons manifested here on earth, and, it has consequences for both
individuals and cultures. The enemy has taken over the earth, the king is returning,
and he has sent his troops ahead to establish a beach head then to occupy the land
for his return. Battles are ragging on many fronts. There is a battle for truth,
another for the sanctity of life, another for justice, another against hunger,
another against poverty, another against ignorance and so on. Servants of the
king are to use their natural gifts, talents, abilities, and spiritual gifts against the
forces of evil.
Finally, to occupy this world for Jesus means Christians are to provide leadership
in such fields as philosophy, the science, the arts, education, medicine, law,
government, relief, development, political, agriculture, missions, and
linguistics. We are to be pro- active rather than merely stand against the world’s
agenda. We are to be explorers, inventors, and discoverers. We are to push back
the boundaries of the fall.
2Kings7:3 “Why sit here and die?” Why settle for less?”|
We are hungry where we are. We are going there – the wealthy place. The food
that we want is there. Move from the place of adversity to that of prosperity.
When they began to move, the heavens touched their feet and caused the world to
tremble. The world came to a standstill. It is your time to occupy. The world is
waiting on you.
I DON’T CARE ABOUT YOUR NAME, AGE YOU ARE GOD’S BEST FOR
THE TIME YOU ARE LIVING IN.
Luke 19:13
The context is a parable. A certain noble man went into a far country to receive a
kingdom. A parable is a short story that has a moral teaching. It is to illustrate a
spiritual or kingdom truth. Divine principle. Noble man. Son of a great family.
Great authority, generosity and goodness. This is Jesus. A man of illustrious
extract. Royalty. King of kings. Men may have authority but Jesus has absolute
authority.
Eph. 4: 11-14
Set the captives free. He gave gifts and talents to men. Talent means gold and
silver. He gave valuables to his servants with a command; “Occupy till I come”
He was demanding action in a time frame. Until when? Till I come.
In this context occupy means. Trade. Make profit into exchange
Engage; Confront; Increase; Invade
You are empowered to do business don’t be laid back. Go into action deal with the
things of God, the way business people deal with things.
Luke 16

Wakeup early, keep a diary, keep time, honour appointments and targets.
DON’T JUST WAKE UP TO YAWN! Don’t live a life of no goal, and no
purpose. Wake up and do business. Be excited when the sun rises because you
have deals to seal! There is GRACE – that makes men great. There is a second
chance or opportunity. The favour of God is upon you. Explore what you can do
till Jesus comes. Open your eyes wide. Use your gifts, not your neighbours’.
You have gold and silver. “Occupy till I come” also mean “traffic till I come”
ever been caught in heavy traffic in the city. Vehicles go very fast and keep looting
with headlights on. It means be a shrewd business man. Don’t be put off easily
keep pushing. Hung on. The word traffic is used in the drug world. Drug
trafficking requires sharp thinking and smartness. They always change the modes
of transport. They keep changing their methods. Begin to traffic Jesus. Tell
others about Christ in a very short time – BREAK THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS.
The devil has no portion in heaven, on earth or in your life. We are redeemed by
the blood of the lamb. The blood has delivered us from the power of darkness.
Don’t give the devil room. The room the devil can have is the one you allow him
to have. He has no authority.

KNOW THE ENEMY

What the enemy does:
 Fights your God given assignment
 Hate your increase
 Not happy about your progress
 Attempts to kill the faith that God is birthing in you
 Anyone who would rather discuss your past than your future.
Your past is not your future. Don’t concentrate in remembering school days,
college days, previous divorce or business failure. Don’t fear the enemy.
God will fight for you against your enemy (Deut 20: 4) The Lord is on your side
Know that Satan is your eternal enemy. Don’t be ignorant of the devices of the
enemy. THE ENEMY YOU DON’T FIGHT WILL NOT GO AWAY. IF
YOU WANT REST THEN CONQUER EVERY ENEMY IN YOUR
SPHERE. Boldly declare: “I AM NOT FOR DEFEAT. IT IS MY SEASON
OF FAVOUR AND VICTORY.
(Ephesians 6: 10-11) Be strong against the enemy. Put on the whole amour.

You are guaranteed of winning. OVERCOMING THE ENEMY IS THE KEY TO

PROMOTION!

RESTORATION

(2Chronicals 20:24) It is the season of restoration - God doesn’t just restore. He

restores more than you lost (prov. 6:30-31). In the Bible Job lost everything. God
in turn restored to him double (Job 42). God is going to restore double portion.
Remember all the thing that you have had: dead parents, relatives, lost
inheritance. When God restored, it was more than they could carry away. It took
three days gathering. It was gathering and gathering. It can be such that you can’t
take it to the bank: It keeps pilling. Judah faced challenges like you and I face.
The devil is ever fighting.

WHY PEOPLE CRY

Psalms 84:6-8; Luke 7:11-16; Jer. 31:3,13; John 11:35
1. TEARS OF DELAY
Delay in marriage in ministry, marriage, barrenness, no more tears of delay.
(Ezek. 12:28) may you become rich young ruler before you are 30 years.
God will fastrack your promotion
2. TEARS OF BEREAVEMENT
Sometimes life seems unfair when we loose our relatives and friends. Tears
of bereavement when we lose our loved ones: parent, spouse, siblings. Tears
of pain. Declare and decree: you will not bury your loved ones prematurely,
every spirit of untimely death is scattered. Jesus shed the tears of pain at the
death of Lazarus (John 11:35)
3. TEARS OF FALSE ACCUSATIONS
People can cook and fake false lies. Naboth was cheated of his birth right
through false accusation. I decree and declare: you will not shed tears of
wrong accusations. You may do good but still wrongly accused and be bad
mouthed. Ill speech. I curse the people who trumpet wrong news about you,
no more accusations of fornication and adultery. GOD TURNS YOUR
TEARS INTO JOY. No more lies at the place of employment
4. TEARS OF BETRAYAL

Judas kissed Jesus before his arrest. Traitors cry with you but they are the
ones who cause you pain. Don’t possess the DNA of Judas Iscariot. Did you
confide in someone and it has become public? Judas means double minded,
causing pain, sorrow and agony
I decree and declare: the gossip and traitor behind your problems will hand
like Judas Iscariot and Herman. Any one using your medical secrets, medical
condition, personal details to abuse and accuse you will fall down and die.
Beware of three women who will come your way: Mrs. Potipher, Delilah
and Jezebel. Delilah is looking for the secret to your anointing. The cause
tears of betrayal
5. TEARS OF LONELINESS (2Kings 7:1-10; Gen. 2)Leprosy, singleness,
divorce, widowhood, widowerhood, childlessness, PRISON)
6. TEARS OF REJECTION: Jephthah, the stone the builders rejected has
become the capstone. Human expectation is surpassed by a divine plan. Are
big tithers harassing their pastor? Elders and deacons leading a rebellion
against the senior pastor? As a minister are you rejected by fellow pastors?
ANGELS DON’T FIGHT FELLOW ANGELS, UNLESS THEY ARE
FAKE AND PHONEY. Are you being castigated and rejected? Where you
were rejected you will be celebrated and projected.
7. TEARS OF JOY (Gen. 44:15) re-union of Joseph and his brothers. Joseph
wept when he saw Benjamin. Don’t repay evil for evil. The battle belongs to
the lord. Have you been mistreated by your senior pastor: delayed or no
salary, no food, given cold food or left overs? Don’t revenge: bequeath your
spiritual sons cars and houses. May you have tears of joy, you will be
shocked and embarrassed with blessings, your mouth will be wide open on
your wedding day; you will receive twins and triplets
8. TEARS OF REGRET (Matt. 27:75) Peter wept bitterly after denying Jesus
three times. Do you dress like a Muslim in order to get contracts? Don’t sell
your faith and conscience. Don’t be a sycophant (tailwagger) and a sellout.
NO KING WILL RULE FOREVER. AVOID COMPROMISE
9. TEARS OF COMPASSION (John 11:35)
10.TEARS OF INFIRMITY, DISEASE AND SICKNESS - PAIN
11.TEARS OF LOSS (1Sam. 30:1-15)
12.TEARS OF HELL FIRE – weeping and gnashing of teeth. However rich
you are you will never take your riches to heaven. You will receive answers
for even things you never prayed for
13.TEARS OF RECONCILIATION
Gen 33:4 Esau and Jacob. Every relationship can be mended and restored. Tears of
joy will flow during your re-union

HOW TO GET TEARS OF JOY

a) TRUST IN THE LORD Psalms 127Unmerited, unshakeable, irresistible faith.
Absolute faith is absolute victory. Through faith God will send help
b) BELIEVE THE REPORT OF THE LORD (psalms 137) when God turned
around their captivity. Believe the report of the Lord and see the results of the
Lord
C) Wrestling in Prayer James 5:13-16
d) Rejoice in the Holy Ghost
righteousness, peace and joy in the holy spirit
e) “Thy word have I hidden in your heart
 No more tears in your marriage, ministry, job, career, place of work, etc
