Each jar contains enough dye for dying approximately 2 pounds of material. Use more or less
for deeper or paler results. Detailed instructions for dyeing are sent with each order. We rec-
ommend you test dye prior dyeing your entire project. Here are a few basics for dying reed:
•Wet reed •Dissolve dye in boiling water and set aside. •Add water to dye pot
•Heat the dye pot and allow water to simmer. •Dissolve 4 oz. salt /pound of material.
•Add dissolved dye that was set aside. •Add material to be dyed and bring to a simmer again.
•Simmer for 20 minutes. •Remove from heat and rinse in salt/vinegar solution and let dry.
