INSTAPRINT (T-shirt printing business)
I. INTRODUCTION
Nowadays, printed shirts are almost seen everywhere: school uniforms with the school logos
printed on it, advertisements printed on shirts, title of an event, different cartoon characters,
quotable phrases and lot more things printed on shirts. There are many processes of transferring a
design to a shirt. Computer printed designs, screen printing process, heat transferred images, and
painting the shirt itself.

In these modern days, things are done in faster ways; that is why computers play varieties of
role. Computer printed designs are among the most common in the market today. One can have
his own picture printed in a shirt in just an hour or he can even personalize a design that he likes
to be printed in his shirt. A design can also be transferred in number of shirts in a clothing
company. This computer printed shirt is the focus of this feasibility study. We come up with this
product to compete in the demand of modern days’ consumers.

In addition to computer printed shirts, we also come up with the idea having painted designs
as an art design exclusive for each company. Images add art to the printed shirts. It livens up the
clothing and gives more attraction to those who see it but our business might be slightly different
from the others because our customers can create their own design or in short, they can
customize their own T-shirt. Universities have their university shirts or organizational shirts,
which is sometimes used by the students as their uniforms. Our business is targeting this
opportunity for us to give them a uniquely designed t-shirts that will surely be appreciated by the
students and other group of people.

In addition to this, we also aim to create our exceptional own painted design for some
organizations who conduct events and some small companies in the country. The Concept
Customize conceptualized a production enterprise that will be the producer of painted designed
and computer printed shirts. We plan to create the products not for retail purposes but as a
wholesale supply catering to the needs of the targeted market for their painted shirt uniforms,
section shirts, organization shirts, batch shirts and other customized shirts. Nowadays, computer
printed shirt designs are common in the market, so as the screen-printed designed shirts.
Computer printed designs though are more modern and has more quality with designs. It being
an easy process to transfer a design to shirts with exclusive painted design for each company is
our unique selling proposition. Our business oriented and hip designs are popular especially with
the teenagers, students and the young.

We come up with this product believing that we can supply the needs of consumers to have
more modernized and likeable designs in its best outcome. Although we are new in this kind of
business, we still can promise the best outcome and produce very good quality painted designed
computer printed shirts that can be used in events, organizational uniforms, school uniforms and
other more occasions. The price will be based on the cost used to create the product. Our
customize shirts will surely compete in the market in terms of pricing but we are confident that
ours is a product that is worth to be paid for.

T-shirts aren’t just a staple of casual wear—they’re articles of clothing that often reflect our
personalities, interests, and identities. With the growth in popularity of selling t-shirts, there’s no
doubt you’ll face some stiff competition. But by building a brand for a specific target audience
and creating t-shirt designs your customers want, you can find your own success. The one
clothing piece that never gets out of trend is ‘t-shirt’. Whether it’s a graphic tee, plain oversized
t-shirt, body-hugging t-shirt, or customized t-shirt, they have always ruled the trend and are liked
by people of all age groups.
II. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
A. NAME OF THE BUSINESS
The name of the business that the company have intend to establish is INSTAPRINT.

B. LOCATION
INSTAPRINT will be established in a 500 sq. m. lot in Andres Bonifacio, Diffun, Quirino.
The site is about 250 meters away from the public market of Diffun.

C. PROBLEM
Imagine being able to design a completely unique shirt. You choose the shirt's material
and design, as well as the image or graphic that will appear on the front and/or back. This is the
pinnacle of artistic expression. There are no restrictions on what you may say. Some people are
passionate about a sports team, and others are passionate about an artist. You may also wear a
shirt with a social message or cause on it. You can print any picture on your shirt, whatever you
want.

D. SOLUTION
INSTAPRINT is an exciting new business that allows people to custom design a shirt
(specifically, the design on the front or back) any way that they would like. By intelligently
leveraging cutting edge technology, INSTAPRINT harness the power of computer sublimation to
allow custom shirt printing in production runs as small as one unit.

E. MARKET
INSTAPRINT has divided the market into two categories based on the products they
purchase. Customers who want a graphic image that has already been produced to be featured on
their shirt is the first category. The second category is those who choose to have custom
artwork printed on their shirt. Since it provides an intuitive and easy method of approaching the
two different categories, INSTAPRINT decided to segment the market by the items that they
purchase. Another explanation for segmenting the market by product is that the profiles of the
consumers of the two goods are too different to group them together.

F. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
Marketing Aspect
• To ensure that the product will be promoted in a very good way in which it can penetrate into
the market.
• To attract more customers within 6 months of operation.

the customers that will purchase the product.
Management Aspect

V. T-SHIRT PRINTING METHOD
We offer different custom shirt printing methods.
In order to provide a process that best suits your artwork, we offer traditional screen printing
for the majority of our products. In opposite, we will offer digital printing on selected items.
A. Screen Printing
Silk Screen printing involves creating a stencil (printers call this a “screen”). Then, using
that stencil to apply layers of ink on the printing surface. Each color is applied using a different
stencil. One at a time, combined to achieve the final look.
B. Digital Printing
Digital printing is a much newer process that involves your artwork being processed by a
computer, and then printed directly onto the surface of your product. DTG printing is not a heat
transfer or applique’s, as the ink is directly adhered to the fabric of your shirt. Each printing
process has its strengths, and our artwork team will weigh these when deciding which to use for
your design.

First of all, the Silk Screen printing is the best option for many designs. For example, the
design that requires a high level of vibrancy, when printing on dark shirts. The ink in screen
printing is applied thicker than digital printing. As the results, even on darker shirts will in
brighter colors.

Additionally, unique products like water bottles, koozies and mugs can be printed. This is
due to the printer can manually handle curved or uneven surfaces. The minimum order quantity
on screen printed items is because of the extra materials and labor time associated with this
custom shirt printing method.

The Digital printing is best used for items that required high amounts of detail, and
orders of a smaller quantity. Besides, the digital printer does not use screens allows for a
photographic print. This much more detail than traditional screen printing as compare to digital
printing. As the ink is applied thinner (to achieve such detail), digital printing is best used on
lighter colored shirts to allow the design to shine through. The design is processed and printed
digitally allows for a quantity of one, since there are no screens or physical setup.

A. FINANCING
USE OF FUNDS
INSTAPRINT will incur the following expenses for startup:
1. Printers - it is one of the most important items you’ll need. You can do a lot with just one
printer, but the best businesses have several different kinds to choose from. The four
types that printing businesses use are inkjet, laser, sublimation, and solvent printers. Solvent
printers offer the best graphics, but they are very pricey and might be too much for a very small
business.
2. Computers - to use with a graphics and cutting program. You’ll also need it for payment,
inventory, and ordering functions. Our suite of software is ideal for helping you manage your
business.
3. Graphics programs - to create custom images and art for the shirts and other media.
4.Transfer paper - to transfer the images from the printer to other materials. This requires the
use
of a heat press.
5. Cuter - You’ll need a cutter and the program included in it to create stencils for screen prints.
6. Emulsion
7. Dryer
8. Inks
9. Website - This will be used for information disbursement as well as ordering.
10. Shelving display unit - To display assorted graphic images on paper for easier viewing.
11. Broadband Internet connection.
12. Two desk/chair/office supplies sets.
13. Small shirt inventory - Inventory will be kept small to lower overhead. This will be
accomplished by using a shirt vendor who is one shipping day away, effectively using a just-in-
time (JIT) system for managing inventory.
14. Heat application unit — To make the sublimation transfer.

Business Equipment- P150,000.00

Office- P100,000.00
Initial Operations- P40,000.00
Total Cost- P290,000.00

B. PROFITABILITY ANALYSIS
The t-shirt costs P160. 00 – P300. 00. In example, a customer ordered 50 shirts and the
quality of its design costs, let’s say, P200. 00 each. 50 shirts X P200. 00 = P10, 000. 00
For instance, that the cost of expenses on each shirt is P120. 00, the business will earn a
profit of P80. 00 for each shirt, with the total of P4, 000. 00, that is for 50 shirts. The profit of
the company depends on the number of shirts a customer will ask. Thus, this computation is in
approximation and still subjected for any changes if such is to be proven needed.
C. OPERATIONAL EXPENSES
As for the computation, operational expenses are estimated to be around P120. 00 per
shirt. For instance, there are 50 shirts to be printed (P120. 00 x 50), a total of P6000. 00 is the
operational expense incurred. This amount should therefore be watched to monitor the
operational expenses of the company. The general manager in this sense should consider
allocating the remaining retained earnings as an allowance for INSTAPRINT.

D. PRICING STRATEGY
A t-shirt will cost P160.00 and the design will cost P150.00 with total cost of P310.00.
And the efforts of the workers will be added in the total cost in which it cost P50.00 per shirt.
The final price of the customized shirt will be P360.00 in any sizes.
